“Great getaway for a few days”

This is a great place to stay if visiting Torquay. The views from the apartment overlooking the bay and marina are outstanding. The apartment is very modern and comes with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. The main bedroom also has a wide panoramic view of the sea and is great to wake up to. The balcony is a great sun trap and even when a cold wind blows it is very sheltered. We stayed for five days and enjoyed the local amenities, visiting Buckfastleigh, Otters and Butterflies and the Devon Railway and a visit to Totnes very “spiritual” with lots of quirky shops. A visit to Brixham by boat was probably the best way to get there but Brixham is a bit of a disappointment. We felt that the best way into town (we tried three) was via the steps starting at the bottom of the communal garden, this offers great views of the bay and is along a pleasant modern walkway and takes you into the centre of town. If you want to start at the top of the town and walk down and into the centre, then turn left out of the flat and either turn right into Abbey Road or use the lift in the multi storey car park. I am recovering from a broken ankle and found the steps and hills not much of a problem (using an air cast boot) We ate out in Prezzos, Harvesters, Gurkha Inn and Le Bistrot, all reasonably priced and all provided good service. There are lot of food outlets and coffee shops to choose from. We had a car but the bus service runs all over the place and runs very frequently. The Blue Chip website rates this apartment as 4 Star, there are certainly lots of certificates around the apartment up until 2013 that state this. How-ever it feels that little touches are missing, such as Wi-Fi (you can access a BT Hot Spot which is great if you’re BT customer, if not you have to pay for it), a bedside clock radio and balcony table would be useful, the beds are very low and have thin mattresses, there was no personal greeting or bottle of wine as mentioned in reviews elsewhere and despite that the managers phone numbers being widely available our calls to mobile and home were not answered and messages left were not replied too (not for two weeks). Getting there is easy enough and our Sat Nav got us there probably easier than the written directions but it should be noted there is a new by pass road outside Torquay that is yet to appear on Sat Navs. Never the less please do not let the minor negatives distract you from the fact that this is a good place to stay.

“Needs updating”

The view was very nice. There is no wifi, bedding is outdated in both bedrooms, one hand towel and one bath towel per guest is not sufficient, no counter space in bathroom for toilet and shaving items, television channels limited, lighting in bathroom too dim, and bedroom pillows should be updated. Underground parking was a plus as was the location.

“Wonderful dog friendly apartment with amazing views”
Reviewed 8 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Masts C2 apartment. We never tired of the wonderful views out over the bay and thought it was a great location close to the town. The apartment was bright and comfortable, with lots of little touches that made it feel really homely. The kitchen area was well equipped, the bathroom had a great shower, every room was welcoming and nicely decorated. It was also fantastic that our dog was able to stay with us. We would love to stay here again in the future.

“The best view in Torquay!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

A fabulous apartment that is like a home from home, very clean and comfortable and with a personal warm welcome from the owners.
It has stunning views across all of Torbay from the long decked balcony and is unbeatable!
There is an allocated secure parking space in the underground car park and the apartment gardens access the newly refurbished Rock Walk directly via a key code locked secure gate. This cuts off an otherwise long walk around.
There are DVD's books and games provided plus binoculars to make the most of the stunning view! Although there isn't sky, digital freeview is available.
The only reason I haven't ticked the recommendation for older people/disabilities is due to it being accessed directly off the street and is up a flight of internal stairs with no other means of getting into it..
The only improvement would be to have Wi-Fi.
