We decided on the last minute to take a trip to Torquay and the Rivera. When we eventually arrived at this hotel we had a very warm welcome with a smile too. We were informed that we had been upgraded to a sea view and balcony so a very pleasant surprise. The room was roomy with a large bathroom and bath. Towels were supplied plus the usual tea and coffee (no biscuits). Breakfast was sufficient for us a good array of cereals and cooked breakfast was good too. There were alternatives available and there is hot porridge available but we didn't realise this until we sat down and properly read the menu. Service was good too. Extra toast and tea supplied. Would we return yes if the price is right. There is a short cut to the promenade approx 10 mins away runs alongside the hotel to the rear so saves the huge walk up the hill to reach the front of the hotel.

The room was clean and had tea and coffee and a tv.The down side was the room was damp and in need of decorating but other features out way the bad things such as the location and the price which was under 20 pounds. The staff were very nice and helpful and if you need just some where to stay for a night that's cheap I would recommend it.

Just spent a lovely weekend here, and wish I could have stayed longer.
I had a lovely room, with a balcony, and sea view. The room, bedding towels etc were spotless.
Manager Mark and all staff were so friendly, helpful and obliging, in particular Brian, who is so entertaining!
I am very much looking forward to going back!
