The Country Park is free to walk around and features beautiful formal gardens, lakes and woodlands which can be enjoyed via a network of paths. Cockington Court and Cafe are nearby, along with a collection of craft studios where you can browse the creations of local artists and crafts people. The Cockington Country Park is cared for by local charity the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, who's volunteers operate a Visitor Centre in the village. Car parking is chargeable, although Trust members can park for free in the Trust's car park. Visit our website for more details.

The grounds and Rose Gardens are wonderful. There i's the church to visit and the Hall is now the Registrar''s office for the area. We did find the art and craft shops poor will little to attract

Cockington Country Park is great on a summer's day, but I also like it in winter. The setting is like Olde England, the park is pleasant, and the house is used for a variety of craftsmen/women. It has its own church and a café. Disabled parking is in the upper part of the house, and also a few places in the lower car park, which is restricted in size. The village below the big house is full of pretty old cottages. There is also a pony and trap service.

Chocolate box pretty village, a genteel day out. Recommend walking, there’s a beautiful footpath from the main Torquay to Paignton road.

Lovely thatched cottages with gift shops & craft shops, places to eat. Behind Cockington Hall are more craft shops including a choclatier & blacksmith. The rose garden was a treat ! The Drum pub is also worth a visit.

Having had a splendid Saturday on the front watching the Paignton Airshow, our friend suggested we seek out Covington Village the following Sunday, and I was pleasantly surprise to learn that it was just a few short minutes away by car and less than a mile on foot. Cockington is a quintessential English chocolate-box village which should not be missed.

Almost suspended in time, you can explore the village and its gardens. Plenty to see and learn about with a few plesant eating choices. We plumped for a table for four at the cafe in the Rose Cottage Tea Room for lunchtime sandwiches, in a fabulous English country garden setting in lovely early Summer sunshine.

Lovely people. Make time for yourself here.
