We stayed at the Rivermead Cliff Hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of July (before the English school holidays) and had a lovely time. The weather was lovely and this location was perfect with stunning views out over the bay. We travelled with our wee dog and the hotel were very accommodating, with a £10 charge per night in addition for having a pet. They have a lovely garden area where you could have drinks outside which was perfect for us. And one morning they even let us eat our breakfast outside (although this was not normal practise). There was a dog friendly beach right outside the hotel which was brilliant and your only a 10-15 minute walk from the main beach and harbour area where there are a number of places to eat and drink. The room we had, all be it fairly dated with regards to furnishings and decor, was nice big and bright and very clean. Including the bathroom which was almost spotless. Due to the super sunny weather the room did get a bit warm and there was no air conditioning but we did have freakishly warm weather! Breakfast was nice each morning with it being cooked to order it was nice, fresh and tasty. All in all would recommend this hotel mainly for its dog friendly location, clean room and nice breakfast! Staff were friendly.

The hotel was very pleasant staff were very friendly and professional breakfast was very good had the bar snack and the menu was very good and quite good value .The bed was a bit soft but didn't affect my sleep. The only thing was our room had a large light which shone straight into our window which was a bit annoying but all in all an excellent place to stay

We learned not to go by first appearances because the room was relatively small and the ensuite cramped! BUT... the service, the food, and the staff were superlative. Nothing was too much trouble. It was hot weather, and we asked for a fan for the room; it was delivered a minute or so after we had returned to our room. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and the cooked food always 'just right'. The four-course dinner menu was varied and imaginative, with coffee and mints to follow in the very comfortable lounge. Above all, however, it was the quality of the staff which really made the stay so enjoyable. They were courteous, friendly, and always watchful to see if they could provide some service. So many of the guests we spoke to had visited this hotel many times, and we were not surprised. Doubtless we shall join their ranks. Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 67 is a bit cramped

The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had an enjoyable and most relaxing stay. We truly felt that we were special and we cannot praise the service highly enough. The meals were delicious and the Wine List was good too. For a relaxing stay, this hotel is the tops!
