Just back home from a two weeks holiday in the beatiful Torquay.
We have lived (yes, lived is the right word) at Jasmine Cottage, and we have been wonderfully.
The house is a jewel, furnished in elegant and warm fashion, really comfortable, and it's placed in a peaceful corner of the city, yet not so far from the seafront and center city. The near course of local railway is not disturbing at all.
We enjoyed a lot the back garden, where occasionally we had breakfast or lunch, weather permitting.
Five guests have found place, the fifth in a comfortable sofa/bed in the lounge. Perhaps, four is the perfect number, but five gives no problems at all.
Special mention to the decorative lights, that give a peculiar atmosphere at evening.
As a suggestion for hosting foreign guests, we would have liked a tv subscription, to be able to live more deeply our british experience; yet, DVD movies are generously provided by the hosts, so we practiced English listening as well. Also, we fought a little with the shower to reach acceptable temperature of the water. But these have been really minor issues, completely superseded by the pleasure of our staying there.
Last but not least, the hosts, Marian and Anders. We never met them, but they've been always present, promptly answering to any request, and really kind and supportive.
In the end, now we think about Jasmine Cottage as "our house in Torquay", and it says it all.
