So far all good - parts of hotel a bit dated but comfortable - car parking is tight but some people seem to take up two spaces. Will comment better after have dinner tonight. Menu looks good and a fair choice.

Stay here every year . This year we got a large family room which was nice for only two of us as we were staying 7 nights it was good to have extra space . Room clean and kept clean throughout our stay . Plenty to do in complex although we took advantage of the good weather and were out most of the day . Enjoyed the poolside bar and the Starlight Lounge .

The room was very small and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The toilet system was loose on the wall and the angle of the loo made it very difficult to use. My relatives were next door and the room was also small.
The staff were excellent and very friendly. The food was average sometimes not hot enough. Would not use it again.

Hotel perfect staff excellent even opened up the restaurant early so we could watch football. Food excellent wide range of choices every evening. Entertainment spot on will definitely return. Lots to do in torquay for families and couples.

Just back from a lovely weekend at the Derwent with friends. First visit to Torquay and chose Derwent Hotel due to its location and leisure facilities.
Rooms, (we had three single) were quite small but adequate and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping staff very friendly and accommodating.
Our first evening meal was not too special but think we just made the wrong choices as the food certainly improved as the weekend went on. Restaurant staff were also very friendly and went out of their way to our special requests, must have been the way we asked as we did witness some appalling demands and behaviour, let’s just say from mature coach guests!
Leisure centre was lovely, knowledgeable staff, pool, spa well maintained, gym well equipped.
The entertainment was also very good especially by the ‘entertainments team’ who put on an excellent show. The magician however on the Saturday was dreadful to the point of being embarrassing, talking to others who had stayed at the Derwent before some two years ago he was dreadful then, why oh why invite him back?
Could see that lifts could be an issue as there are only two small lifts but we used the stairs every time, even though we were on the third floor! Again the main complaints we had to endure were from the coaches who had all the time in the world to chill and wait, your on holiday for heavens sake!
We will all be returning, hopefully very soon. We all had a great time and were pleasantly impressed by the efficiency of all the staff we had contact with.
