Our second visit to Frognel Hall. Booked a family room, spacious and comfortably with a great view across Torquay. It's a lovely character hotel / hall with beautiful gardens and makes the perfect spot for a base to see Torbay. Only about 10 or so minutes to the harbour and other interests in Torquay, but the roads are quite steep in this part of town.
Beds are comfortable and it is very quiet at night.
Breakfasts were excellent as were our hosts Stephen and Amanda.
Highly recommended.

Had another great stay with Stephen and amanda, they were great hosts once again, food again was exceptional and well presented and the service was excellent. Glad to see the renevotion has started to give the building a fresh new look. Frognel Hall is a quiet horel in its own grounds with a friendly home from home atmosphere.

Room Tip: The masters suit is a little more costly but much more spacious with good views of the bay.

We've recently just come back from a weekend at Frognel hall, what can I say! booked 2 single rooms and to my amazement they were doubles as they do t have singles. I think we had the 2 smallest doubles but nevertheless they were massive! beds were really comfortable and the hotel is a very large Victorian building with a lovely Olay worldly atmosphere. the breakfasts were delicious and the evening meal menu looked fantastic but unfortunately we had already made plans for dining but when we return we will definitely be having the evening meal.
Amanda and Stephen are very nice genuine hosts and nothing's too much trouble, they are very knowledgable about the area and the history of the hotel, which was very interesting, we have been coming to Torquay for tha last 20 years and have never stayed here before. But we are definitely making this our first choice of hotel when we come back again.
Don't be put off with the scaffolding outside the main entrance as they are currently going through some renovations, once you get through the front door, you get the wow factor
Thank you Amanda and Stephen for our fantastic stay and hope to see you soon.

Just returned from our annual summer break. Our stay was, as usual, thoroughly enjoyable, Stephen & Amanda making us feel at home as soon as we arrive. Our stay was all the more enjoyable as we usually coincide with other regulars. We were pleased to see external refurbishment is being carried out, but it caused us no inconvenience. It is being done in phases, and will vastly improve the look of this lovely listed building when completed. We always have dinner in because the food is so good and we are always spoilt for choice with new additions to the menu as well as our favourites, all prepared on site from fresh mainly local produce. The room are all comfortable but none are the same and all we have been in have been light and airy. All being well we will be back in December for our usual Christmas break.

Room Tip: We think May, June, July & October are the best rooms although the four poster bed in The Masters is worth the extra.
