Plenty of tea rooms to choose from to enjoy a Devonshire cream tea. Be prepared to walk to enjoy everything the village has to offer.

We visited Cockington village and Manor on a slightly rainy Sunday morning and it was still a very nice place to see. I had imagined it a bit bigger though. The thatched cottages looked nice and the Manor House had a lovely tea room inside. The grounds are beautiful even in the rain. I imagine it to be a very pleasant walk in the sun.

Step back in time in this beautiful village. So much history and a beautiful country park that offers peace and tranquility. We had lunch at rose cottage which has a beautiful garden setting and live piano playing, it was so relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit also the most fragrant rose garden would definitely recommend a visit if you are in north Devon.

Just a few minute drive from Torquay seafront, partly up narrow country lanes. The village is old world with what you'd expect, including an old metal forge. Limited parking at peak periods. Drive through and find a pub to the left of the road with a few parking spaces. Drive farther up the road and there is some parking behind the country house, mainly for disabled vehicles. The country house is a pleasant visit, with its art and craft studios and café. The house can be found by using the lower parking area and walking to the left to the gateway and long path. The house also has its own church. We always go there when in Torquay - a pleasant few hours spent.
