Stayed here last Friday night , staff are friendly. Room was very basic and dated . Bathroom was very poor shower doors didn't close , was shabby. Simple things like sugars with teas & coffee , empty sugar packets left !! Could hear everyone who sat outside drinking and swearing. For the money charged would never bother again. we stayed at the boathouse in Norfolk the week before , cheaper and the rooms absolutely beautiful .

This pub is in a good location and is relatively quiet compared to some city centre pubs.
It has a good choice of beers and a great menu which is better than the usual generic fare. Of
Ur three meals consisted of Fish & chips, Scampi & chips and gammon steak, all of which were cooked nicely and tasted good, and I was allowed to exchange my chips for a jacket potato.
In fact my friend who had the fish reckons you can always judge a pub by its fish and chips.
I like this pub as a good alternative to the normal Wetherspoons etc.

Their carvery is excellent! We’ve been a couple of times and been really impressed. We’ve not had to queue for long whilst waiting for the carvery. The choice of food available for the carvery is really good and it’s really tasty.

It’s also excellent value! For two carveries and a couple of drinks it came to £18!

The staff are really friendly and helpful and really made us feel welcome.

As we were passing today we saw the Farmers Union did roasts. We were met and taken to our seats, by a friendly member of staff. We ordered drinks and all four of us had carvery.
The carvery was fantastic! 4 meats to choose from ,lots of fresh veg, potatoes, yorkshires, and all the trimmings. Again friendly guy serving.
Would recommend the carvery and will be going again.....we were lucky to just turn up but would be booking in advance next time.
Good meal and nice staff.

Always love coming here the staff are so friendly the food comes out fast. Good value for money, excellent food.Plus student free.
Only downside they should stop smokers from standing in the doorway. Would give it 5 stars if they did.
