Stylish cottage that retains many of the original features offset against modern. Very small but adequate for 2 people. Note: The bed is a single and a half so if you are like us tall and large framed it may be very tight and the mattress is very soft. The location was central for everything so take your time and explore St Ives properly. Our only main comment to share is that if you are looking to get away and have a lie in this is not the place for you. Deliveries were being offloaded outside the window at 7.15am and just after 8 through the week, the charming church bells chime every hour and we also had road drilling first thing one morning. When it's quiet it is a lovely and relaxing place to stay in. The owners were also very thoughtful with Cornish scones, cream and jam for us which we loved!

Liked best: Period features, location, living area and bathroom
Liked least: The bed. It was too small for us and sleeping was a problem.

“Wonderful time in Cornwall”

We rented the Corwall Cottage in St. Ives for two weeks in August. It was great. It is small but very adequate for two people. The renovation of the 17th C. building was very well done and the place is comfortable, as well as historic. The location is excellent, a short distance from almost everything that you want to see in St. Ives, and it is possible to go to the very good restaurants, stores, museums, beaches, etc. without any steep climbing (hard to find in a Cornwall fishing village).. Ylenia and Paul, the owners, are very friendly and available when you need help or information.
The reserved parking spot, while a little ways from the cottage, is a valuable feature. Parking is not difficult and it is quite easy to get to and from the main driving routes. There was much to do and see in St. Ives, but we also drove off almost every day to see the many beautiful and historic sites all over Cornwall.

We had a great week in the Cornish cottage. It was cosy and felt like our own little bit of heaven. Location was spot on near shops, restaurants, pubs and a stones throw from the harbour. The facilities in the cottage were top notch and we felt right at home. Could not believe the size of the bathroom and loved the rainforrest shower. If you are expecting good views you maybe disappointed apart from that could not fault it.

“Bliss!”
Reviewed 13 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We came for a week of rest and relaxation, and that's exactly what we got. The weather preceding our stay was stormy, wet and wild and we arrived the morning after a very high tide, with the St Ives Harbour suffering slight flooding. The cottage is well above any flood risk levels and tucked away in a quiet area; we felt safe and cozy. With the fire burning and the wind whistling outside it was lovely being behind the very thick stone walls toasting our toes!

The cottage is within easy walking distance of the shops, pubs and restaurants and once we had parked the car, we never went back to it. We had planned to drive round and enjoy the countryside, but we never felt the need to leave St Ives or the delights of The Cornish Cottage.

One journey that we did make, on the one sunny day, was to St Erth by train. This is a must, only £4 return, with beautiful views of the coastline.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, finished to a very high standard and immaculately clean and tidy, it really felt like a home from home. When we arrived there was a gift box of local produce, chosen from a local deli, and we were so thrilled about the thought that went into this.

We really didn't want to leave....

The communication with the owner before our stay was excellent. Also the housekeeper who showed us to the cottage was delightful and she went out of her way to welcome us and on our departure day she proved to be a total star.
