“Awesome location, with thoughtful owners who made our honeymoon extra special”

The cottage is fantastic. It had been recently refurbished when we stayed, and the attention to detail really shone through. Having the living room upstairs works really well in this cottage and makes the best of the space.

The location is perfect, tucked a little way back from the harbour. It's close enough to the main beaches, shops and restaurants, but still enjoys peace and quiet. We parked in the main council car park and walked to the cottage, which took about 10 minutes or so. This avoided trying to navigate the narrow streets.

We looked at a lot of cottages on TripAdvisor before we booked this one. We definitely made the right choice as it was fantastic. The owners had left flowers, scones and a bottle of bubbly for us as it was our honeymoon which was such a lovely welcome to the cottage. There is a very comprehensive folder of local information which has been compiled by the owners. We found this to be really helpful during our stay.

We would definitely recommend this cottage as something special among the huge number of holiday rentals in St Ives!

“Highly recommend gem ”
Reviewed 29 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in this fantastic cottage in June and found it to truly delightful. Comfortable, clean and with all the amenities that you possibly need. A real home from home. The two bedrooms on the ground floor are beautifully furnished and it's a great arrangement. The lounge and kitchen on the first floor is great. The kitchen is well stocked and a lot of thought has gone into making sure that everything that you might need. It works very well indeed and the kitchen items are very good quality. The provision of a cream tea on arrival is a lovely touch and was very much appreciated after a long journey. There is the opportunity to grab a car parking space in Porthmeor Square next to the cottage, but getting there early is advisable . The cottage is very close to the main shopping street, harbour and all the lovely cafes & restaurants. We had two little dogs with us and it worked very well for us. Derek the owner was an absolute marvel. We would highly recommend this absolute gem.

“Beautiful restoration of a quaint fisherman's cottage”

We had a very comfortable stay at Flipflops. It has loads of character but has been beautifully restored to provide modern, up to date accommodation. The upstairs living area is lovely. It is bright and cheerful giving you a feeling of space. The cottage is in a prime location close to the beach, harbour and shops. We parked our car in the free parking area next to the cottage every day except one. Derek is passionate about his cottages and is keen for all his guests to have a great time. We did and we thank him for all his help and hope to visit again soon.

“Family Getaway”
Reviewed 3 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Having just returned from a weeks stay at Flip Flop Cottage I would like to submit my review whilst still fresh. As a family of four and our little dog we had a lovely relaxing weeks stay here. Very quirky and clean. Everything you need is there. Owner very responsive also. Unfortunately we couldn't park in the square as it was Easter weekend and very busy. We parked the car and paid for a weeks parking online at a carpark close by. We didn't go with the aim of being able to park in these spaces, better not too! Cottage had everything you need including a cream tea on arrival, thank you for that nice touch. You are literally a few seconds walk from the main shopping street and also beaches. So many just a minute walk away. Perfect! There is a little bakers at the bottom of the hill which we have to recommend as everything we bought from there was delicious. Handy for fresh bread in the morning. Lots of nice places to eat and drink too. We fell in love with St. Ives and hope to return very soon. You won't be disappointed with the cottage but I do think 6 would be a squeeze. 4 and a dog was just enough. That's just my opinion. Thanks again to Derek for a very chilled week at Flip Flop Cottage.
