Paid a mid-week lunchtime visit to the Mexico Inn today on a spur of the moment decision. Have heard lots of great things and we weren’t disappointed.

We received a warm welcome as we arrived, the bar is comfortable and the log fire added to the ambience on a chilly November day.

We both had the brisket & ale burgers, accompanied by hand cut chips. The food was delicious and freshly cooked, the service during our short visit was excellent.

We both agreed that we would return for an evening meal, to take advantage of the great looking menu.

Popped in to the Mexico Inn on the off chance after walking the coast path. It doesn't look much from the road but inside it's fabulous! We visited for lunch and it was great.

Chunky wooden furniture, colourful décor and a glowing woodburner makes for a warm, cosy atmosphere and a varied menu using local produce has something to tempt everyone. The food is beautifully presented and tastes amazing; you can tell it has been made with a passion for flavour and skilled attention to detail. Everything is well priced and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable too. A well-stocked bar, adventurous wine list and enticing cocktail line-up top it all off. Well worth a visit!

What a great find, delicious food and a really pleasant ambiance, I think it must have been almost full the evening we visited. I thoroughly recommend The Mexico Inn, a great place to eat, with an interesting history!

This place is a treasure. Easily missed as most people use the bypass and the pub looks quite ordinary from the outside but a treat awaits inside. It is very specious and characterful with granite stone . The menu is fairly limited but all fresh cooked and amazing. None of your microwaved pub grub here! We had dinner.for 5. The starters were very tasty. Home made hummus , whitebait with harissa mayo and chilli beef salad. Mains were amazing. Pollack fishcakes in a very light curry sauce , bubble and squeak as a main (their take on it - incredible) and pulled brisket burgers which were just perfect. A couple had a lovely fruit crumble with mascarpone ice cream to end The girl who served us was excellent with a great sense of humour. Not the cheapest but fair price for such quality. We will certainly return.
