My parents had visited here and thought that our children would love it. So off we set from our YHA near Padstow. Think the place could do with some better signage as was a pain to find, we called into the Aeorhub, as the address is Aerohub 2, but they told us we were in wrong location but they did give us directions. Likewise we came up to a locked gate with no signage on it which was a puzzle until my wife managed to get a phone signal and found out that it doesn’t open until 11:00am. Only a five minute wait, so that was ok with us. Once inside it was a pleasure to see how many of the planes you could actual get into and how they encouraged the children to get into the cockpit of the planes.
We got the impression that the places survives through the dedicated a a number of enthusiastic volunteers, with some of it coming over as a bit amateurish, but overall it is worth making the effort as we all enjoyed it. The highlight for me was full sized VC10, as, as a youngster I flew in one to Singapore when my Dad was posted there with the RAF.
Some more signage a little further out from the turning off the A3059 would be really helpful.
