Booked the apartment and so glad we did. With it being August it wasn't cheap but certainly worth it for the views alone. It faces towards the golf course and gets the sun all day long and it's just fab for watching the sun set over the sea even if you do have to twist your neck a little. There is everything you need for your stay including Tupperware for keeping things fresh.
Fistral Beach is a short walk passing the Carnmarth Hotel when you can visit for drinks and food. Once at Fistral there are a couple of shops, bar and restaurants plus a lovely beach to walk on. From reviews I've read elsewhere If you are thinking of parking at Fistral even for a few minutes be aware that the parking company at Fistral Beach are over zealous and will send bills for the smallest infringement.
It's also easy enough to walk to Sainsbury's Supermarket for shopping as well reaching the other beaches, pubs, restaurants and shops of Newquay without the hassle of driving and parking.
When we arrived for the first time it was bit like a Crystal Maze challenge finding the gate, code and then opening the door to the parking. Be aware that the parking spaces appear to be randomly numbered so don't necessarily think you've missed it. We didn't have an issue with the parking constructor for Zinc but please don't let that put you off booking here.
I'm sure we will return to the apartment for the location and the views which are just brilliant.
On our third stay at Zinc, we had a great time but when we got home we had a horrible surprise! We did as instructed, parking in the underground allocated space, placing a permit, given by the apartment owner, on the dashboard of the van, but just over a month on returning home we were surprised by two parking tickets, even though we had not contravened any regulations! We have tried to correspond with the parking company Armtrac, the landowner and Blue Chip Holidays who we booked the holiday through, but no one is prepared to help us (apart from being offered £50 off our next holiday there, even though the fine (plus charges because we failed to 'appeal' in time, even though we have sent several letters within the time by recorded mail) is over £200! So by all means book a holiday here as the apartment is lovely, but you may need to save some money to pay the crooks who control the parking here and seem to have a great propensity to use Photoshop so that even if you display your parking permit, when they take a photo it suddenly disappears!!! We are now left to fight, in court, charges which are totally ridiculous and could end up paying twice the price of the original holiday! Gutted and we won't be going there or using Blue Chip Holidays again!
