We visited the restaurant last night only to be very pleasantly surprised. Two of us ordered the mussels and two the special of ‘philly cheese steak’. Everything was faultless. From the great service (especially from the terrace barmaid) to the beautiful view onto the beach over drinks. Not to mention the mussels were the best we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be returning, possibly tomorrow! Would highly recommend, but advise you get there early as they seem to get busy after 7:30 ish.
Thank you very much to lusty glaze beach restaurant for the memorable evening.

Went for dinner with my wife when on holiday nearby and the food was fantastic. The service was excellent and we were able to take our Cocker Spaniel along with us. As it was a Wednesday he was able to have a meal also for a donation to a local dogs charity.
The location is stunning, right on the beach and we were able to watch a stunning sunset. The only downside is the 133 steps to climb to the road above. Otherwise excellent.

Sad to read other people’s negative reviews such as the last person who walked out because they couldn’t get a table. Like anywhere decent these days one knows you have to book- no it’s not peak season but we are in the middle of a heatwave and the world and his wife flock to Cornwall.
We were made to feel VERY welcome, our dog was made a fuss of and provided with a water bowl as soon as we got to the table. We were offered a ‘doggie dinner’ too which our spaniel loved!
Our food was excellent- wonderful fresh fish and vegetables.
Personally we didn’t think it was overpriced, we eat out a lot, and you have to take in to account such a beautiful venue which seemed staffed very well. The waitress and bar manager certainly looked after us.
We will return very soon. Thank you for a great evening.

Always love an occasion at Lusty, I kinda agree with a previous lady about the lack of helpful direction to the bar & marquee, I wonder if they prefer you to walk the long way rather than thru the restaurant. Her dribble about her dog ( she’s lucky they accept them ) was totally irrevelant & the situ her own fault for not using her phone ! I enjoyed my surfer salad with steak, in the marquee area, the glass table was filthy though & the choice of wine, price & ultimate quality was woeful, a tumbler of G&T was £7.50 odd, with tap tonic which was flat. You can’t beat the location, I like the staff, super friendly, I’d watch the sunset every time here, be prepared to accept a certain lack of attention to detail & enjoy a ‘beer’ with your simple but tasty fare.

We went here at 7pm tonight. 2 adults 2 dogs. Not peak holiday season. We paid for parking then walked down the 130+ steep and dangerous steps to be told as we hadnt booked we couldnt go in. They said they were full. We were welcome to sit under the marquee but it wasnt table service there. We said ok and asked how to get there and the girl just said "yeah" so not very helpful. We ended up having to walk across the top of the beach with our dogs right around the front through soft sand then into the marquee full of conservatory furniture mainly sofas no tables so not sure how we were expected to eat. We decided to leave and the only way out was to walk through the restaurant passed at least 15 empty tables. We passed one table where a terrier type dog ran out from underneath and attacked our dog grabbing it by the throat. No apology from its owners or the staff. We then climbed the treacherous steps and left without buying anything. Absolutely terrible. If they are full why not put a sign at the top of the steps advising fully booked so people dont have to climb all the way down and be disappointed? Why not put something on the website advising people to book if they want food. This was our first visit to lusty glaze after 5 years of visiting newquay and we will never return again.
