The kitchen is well equipped and huge.
We have tried to think of everything so that you don't have to.
The Rangemaster double oven gas cooker is really great for master chef creations.
The art work found throughout the property is by local artists.
The twin room is great for children when they are ready for a good night's sleep.
We have been told by many guests that our beds are really comfy.
The ensuite kingsize room is great place to escape to and relax on the reclining sofa.
Both kingsize rooms have flat screen TVs,DVD players and hairdryers..
All of our rooms are spacious and decorated to a high standard.
The ensuite bathroom has an electric Mira shower, the best shower on the planet.
Sit out on the enclosed terrace which is a real suntrap in the afternoon and evenings.
Captain's Reach was built in the late 1800's as a Captain's home.
Look out for the slate Captain's Reach sign above the porch doors.
Only two doors away from our property this pub serves excellent food.
This is a view from outside the house we look forward to seeing you soon.

“Exceptional property for a Falmouth holiday”

The owner provides an excellent standard of decor, furnishings and attention to detail to make this a fantastic base for a holiday in the beautiful seaside town of Falmouth. We were welcomed with a tour of the property and some delicious scones and Cornish clotted cream. The view from the property is stunning on a sunny morning and can even be seen from the kitchen while preparing breakfast. We only stayed 3 nights, but facilities like the washer and dryer would have made a longer stay very easy. The entertainment system makes a wet day less of a problem, with plenty to do in the house if you don't want to venture out. We used the quick route into the town, down the steps almost immediately in front of the house, several times and also found it a great way to keep fit returning up! There are more gradual route choices! Parking can be a little bit of a challenge, if you need to use the car to visit outside of Falmouth, but we never had to park more than about 20 metres away. Falmouth is a delightful town with many individually run shops and restaurants as well as the large TragoMills that seems to sell just about anything you can think of at very reasonable prices. There is a beautiful walk around the headland, taking in Pendenis Castle and running down along the beautiful Gyllyngvase (Gully) beach. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent property agree with previous comments! Good
location for walking into town. Would stay again.
However be warned if you book thru this site there is a £50 booking fee and £150 damage deposit is taken nearly 5 weeks before you visit and have just been informed it will take 10 days to be returned!! That is a long time for an agency to sit on £150 of my money!!

“Warmest of welcomes await you.”
Reviewed 11 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Had just parked the car when the phone went, a call from the property owner, Gaye, seeing if I was far away as there was a parking space right outside the property.......not anymore I replied as I have just taken it! From start to end of our week we felt valued and well looked after from the home made scones, cream and Jam on arrival to the towels and Gaye ensuring we had everything we needed. The property was nice and clean on our arrival and exceeded our expectation in this department. Plenty of room for 6 of us, all adults with a supply of wood for the log fire, games console and DVDs to watch as well as a selection of board games. GREAT location above the town although the steps and slope back up to the property could be challenging sometimes, possibly due to drink :) although not to excess!
Pub a couple of doors down was a busy local and we had drinks in there on a couple of nights.
Parking is on street and spaces can be a little tight to get into as cars park on both sides of a relatively narrow road although this would not put us off staying here again and being a man I am able to park a car :) and we always managed to park close to the property.
All in all a great week was had by all at The Captains Reach, Falmouth with the property being the highlight with its spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen and views from the lounge as well as all that Falmouth and the surrounding area has to offer.

“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 30 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

There were five of us staying at Captain's Reach; myself, my husband, our son, daughter-in-law and 3 year old grandson. The cottage is stunning inside and the pictures we had seen when booking it definitely don't do it justice!! Gaye was very welcoming when we got there and the cream tea she provided was delicious!! Everything had been thought of to make this very much a home from home. Despite Gaye and Jeremy living on the second floor of the cottage, we didn't know they were there; however, we knew if we needed anything we could call on them. The location is convenient for the town and the steps back up to the cottage helped work off those Cornish pasties!! Falmouth itself is a lovely place to stay and if you didn't want to use the car you wouldn't need to with plenty of good deals on boat, train and bus travel. We would definitely look at booking this again.

“Great place to stay, great location, great amenities”
Reviewed 13 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The house was very spacious, had a wonderful, fully equipped kitchen. I drew the short straw and slept in the twin bed room but the bed was very comfortable and the area was very quiet during the day and at night. My Mom and sister had the other two rooms and were very happy with them also. Loved the view of the water and the boats over breakfast and only a ten minute walk to the beach and five minutes into town. My mom couldn't manage the steps down into town but a quick 3 pound taxi ride solved that problem and they always arrived very promptly. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay.
