We hadn't stayed with Simon and Vanessa before, but they were recommended to us and wow what a find. A very warm welcome is the norm here and our five night stay enabled us to fully enjoy their fabulous breakfasts and meticulous attention to detail. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure guest comfort at the Highcliffe.
We enjoyed room 5 which was spacious with a king size bed and lovely views over Falmouth and the harbour. The town is only about 5 minutes walk away, using a short cut through to the road below, which can be accessed only a short distance from the front of the guest house.
All in all one of the best, if not THE best B&B, we have ever stayed in. We'll definately be back! Highly recommended!

Our second time at Highcliffe and our expectations have been exceeded. Simon and Ness are running the most amazing bed and breakfast you can fathom to imagine. Yes the rooms are beautifully and tastefully furnished, the welcome is friendly and informative and the breakfasts are varied and wonderfully presented, but it's the details that make Highcliffe stand out. Exhilarating showers, fresh milk delivered to your room each evening, an honesty tuck box, coffee top ups to die for and extraordinary specials for breakfast. There is also an emphasis on being 'green' with Simon and Ness contributing to the Lifeboat Association when guests elect to use their towels on successive days.

Room Tip: the rooms in the loft offer amazing views of the harbour

We stayed for a 3 night break last weekend, 2 nights in the Penthouse suite room 7, 1 night in room 8. From the moment we arrived Simon and Vanessa made us feel so welcome and you can tell how passionate they are in making everyone’s stay as special as possible. The Penthouse suite is amazing, light, airy, spacious and has fantastic views across to the harbour. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were like sleeping on clouds. Room 8 was also light and airy and has views at the front towards Pendennis Castle. The bathroom is huge with a lovely bath and views across the harbour and the bed is just as comfortable. Simon gave us lots of tips on places to visit in and around Falmouth and advice on bars and restaurants.
Breakfast as many other reviews have stated really is outstanding, you can taste the quality in all the ingredients, everything is cooked to perfection, you can choose any variation from the menu, there is also a daily special and you can have as many refills of tea/coffee as you would like, which really sets you up for the day.
The whole house is spotlessly clean and the decor is amazing. It’s the little thoughtful things that Simon and Vanessa do that sets this B&B apart from so many others. Such as fresh milk offered for your tea & coffee in your room, and after we had brought a bottle of chilled white wine and not managed to drink it that night after staying out, because of the fantastically warm weather. (not complaining, how lucky were we!) Simon noticed this and thoughtfully put it in his fridge the next day leaving a lovely little note to explain. We were then able to have it beautifully chilled later in the evening. (with wine cooler provided) Both of these may not seem significant, but it shows just how much Simon and Vanessa care about your stay with them and I think that it’s these seemingly ‘little’ things that makes staying at the Highcliffe so special.
We have holidayed in Cornwall for many years, but have not visited Falmouth before and have now fallen in love with this vibrant feeling Cornish harbour town. So many bars and restaurants to choose from, a few we ate/drank at this trip were The Stables, The Chain Locker, The Ranch and Gylly Beach Cafe, all were very good with excellent service and we are looking forward to trying others on our next visit. We would thoroughly recommend the Highcliffe to anyone wanting to visit Falmouth and we are already looking forward to our next stay.

Room Tip: We loved the penthouse suite, views were amazing.

Enjoyed my week long stay at Highcliffe Contemporary B&B. Simon and Vanessa are the perfect hosts, generous and knowledgeable with the just right amount enthusiasm to let you know they love their work.

The room with bath (en-suite) was one of the cleanest rooms I’ve ever slept in with amenities you would expect in a England. Plenty of fresh linens, towels and shampoo!

Breakfast specials are scrumptious with plenty of butter toast. Don’t bother with bottled water because the tap water is delightfully refreshing.

Please do give them a call when in Falmouth!!!

We stayed here for 6 nights and we can't speak highly enough of the people and the place. Simon, Vanessa and their fabulous team could not have made us feel more welcome. The decor is stylish, tasteful and contemporary and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are amazing and as well as a traditional full English there's also a daily special which we can highly recommend. They source high quality local produce and don't penny pinch. It's fair to say that if Michelin stars were awarded for breakfasts tthe Highcliffe would have at least 2!!
Simon also spent time with us sharing his wealth of local knowledge regarding best places to visit/park etc and eat.
The location is perfect being just a 5 minute walk to the harbour and town and even less to the sea front. There is onsite parking and we never struggled for a space on any of the 6 days we were there. Needless to say we will return in the future (as many other guests do).

Room Tip: Room 5 has a lovely view of the harbour
