This property is a great place to stay and is located in a peaceful and picturesque area right on the river Fal. Itis accessed via a single track lane - a little bumpy which we knew about in advance - and as a result the was little to no passing trafic even though it is near a National Heritage site. It is extremely well equipped, comfortable and accommodates 6 adults. Having 2 full bathrooms is a bomus. We would definitely recommend this property and when we are loking to holiday next in this area it will be the first place we enquire about.
We have just returned from a week at Ruan Dinas. The bungalow is in a lovely situation over looking part of the River Fal. The accommodation was perfect for us and was really well equipped. You do have to travel down a very long bumpy track so we were glad we took all our supplies with us and we only left the bungalow twice. Our 2 boys loved fishing and crabbing from the quay at the end of the garden. We took our own kayak and had fun on the river. We hired a paddle board from Amanda at SUP In A Bag who was brilliant. The boys and my husband loved paddle boarding on the river and jumping in and swimming. We had my husband's parents with us too who loved watching all the adventures we got up to. We all appreciated the peace and quiet the location offered. We also enjoyed the walk through the woods to Trellisick. The birds, wildlife, boats and ever changing river was so lovely to sit and watch from the garden.
Milly and Martha were very helpful and when we had a wasp nest in the garden they had it removed immediately. The bungalow has everything we needed and my only suggestion would be some safety features for the shower as it's over the bath and my in laws were a little worried about slipping.
If you're looking for a holiday to go out everyday in the car exploring this isn't the place for you but if you want somewhere to kick back, relax and mess about on the river then this is perfect. We would love to return.
We enjoyed a relaxing week at this lovely cottage. We were welcomed with delicious fresh scones, clotted cream & homemade jam. The cottage is beautifully situated overlooking the Fal estuary. We liked the remoteness and the potholed track limited the number of visitors to the adjacent NT area. The cottage is very comfortable and kitchen well equipped. As the weather was good we spent many hours enjoying the peaceful garden. We walked round the creek to Trelisseck NT gardens, took boat trip down to Falmouth. My favourite was Trebah gardens which were stunning. The nearest good sandy beach requires a bit of a drive but worth bearing in mind if you are there for a beach holiday, but if like us you are happy to enjoy the local setting then this is an ideal spot. Martha & Milly looked after us very well and the communications were excellent - thank you!
Extremely clean holiday home with beautiful views over the river inlet. The house is beautifully equipped, warm and comfortable, everything is thought of. A perfect base from which to explore Truro, Roseland and surrounds. The guest information book is extremely comprehensive. The only thing to consider is that the access road has many large potholes, nothing for a small city car.
Ruan Dinas is in a beautiful, quiet spot, at the end of a few other properties, down the rough track to Roundwood Quay. The views are delightful and there are good walks nearby. It has a nice garden with areas to sit outside and enjoy watching the river changing with the tides. The bungalow is spacious, with open-plan living space, and very comfortable, with a couple of decent sofas and good beds made up with quality cotton bedding. The property is cosy, and has a Heritage stove to cook on which makes the kitchen and dining area lovely and warm too. There is also an electric hob to use if you prefer. The kitchen is very well equipped and a nice touch was the 'welcome pack' of home-made brownies, Cornish coffee, apple juice and fudge, and local narcissi. We explored a lot of the area and beyond, and very much liked Falmouth. The King Harry Ferry is very close and the trip over to the Roseland Peninsula recommended.
