Stayed here for a night on business. Just wanted access to Chester. Location is very good, only few minutes into Chester with parking under the hotel (although a bit pricey).

The breakfast was very good (Eggs Benedict).

Service is friendly, but they seem to be understaffed. Only 1 person doing check out at 8:30 in the morning.

Stayed here for 4 days with my wife, son and baby.

What a fantastic group of staff and team work at this hotel.

We extended our stay by 1 day and this was no issue at all as the reception staff were incredibly helpful.

The staff in the breakfast room including Daniel and Olivia went above and beyond each day to make sure our table was ready with a high chair each day and heated our baby food and did all they could to help.

The other breakfast manager (who's name escapes me) & Olivia were also fantastic at helping where we should visit and what we should do while visiting.

Paul who manages the leisure facilties was also a great help.

We WILL be back...

The only downside was having to pay for hotel parking.

Absolutely fantastic service! A great team all round. We arrived through the lower level and the smell of damp throughout the hotel was overpowering. Reception was helpful and our rooms were accessed easily. The rooms were very dated though. When I mentioned to the reception desk that we felt the rooms were sub-par they were incredibly apologetic and I do feel bad for even mentioning it to them. We really did want to check out and go to another hotel but thought we would be pushing it to find another hotel at that time of the day. We went out for dinner and when we came back the staff had delivered a delightful fruit platter, a packet of local fudge along with a handwritten note as a gesture of good will to both of our rooms. This was a beautiful touch.
The gym and pool were enjoyable and the restaurant looked refurbished.
I had a good sleep but woke up just keen to get cracking with our journey. My partner woke up with bites on his legs.
We have stayed at Crowne Plaza's before but we won't be again.
Again, a fantastic crew who are so monumentally let down by the infrastructure around them. IHG Management, you need a major look in the corporate mirror for failing your staff and indeed your brand in this manner.
Such a disappointment as your team are exceptional.

Booked this hotel for it's location more than anything. Really close to Chester's centre so nothing was more than a few minutes walk away. Couldn't park on the hotel's car park as it was full but found another one in the centre & walked back no problem. After a few hours round the shops on the Saturday morning we came back & used the swimming pool,steam room & sauna which was very relaxing & just what we needed.
Would stay here again no problem.

You get what you pay for but this is not value for money. Bar & restaurant overpriced. This is Northern England, not London. As a club member I use Crowne Plazas a lot but this one disappointed. The club lounge was no bigger than a small bedroom and had no windows. It was like being in a broom cupboard with a TV on the wall.
Message to management... take a tip from your counterparts in Barcelona
