“IT'S SO ROMANTIC PLACE”
Reviewed 27 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

My partner and I had a long weekend in Cambridge and stayed at Granary where we had such nice and romantic time. the place is really cleaned and warm. kitchen is fully furnished and landlords make a fresh and homemade bread for the guests, also even if we spent less days to have the full breakfast, Andy, the landlord, gave us 3 fresh eggs for the morning. the place has beatiful energy and we hope to come back soon.

“Best accommodation of our vacation”

This place was the best. Clean and spacious. They had provided everything a guest could need, even fresh eggs, bacon, homemade bread and milk for our first breakfast. Actually there was enough food for three breakfasts. We were able to wash our clothes in the washer and dry them on the all-weather clothesline.

It was a 15 minute drive to Cambridge, but a pretty drive through the country.

I would highly recommend this vacation rental.

Liked best: Spacious
Liked least: Small windows. Skylights let in light, but not a view. Felt we needed to leave the door open to see outside.

“Quiet spot within reach of Cambridge”

The two of us stayed in this old converted barn in late May 2015. While the bathroom (shower only) is separate within the apartment the bed lounge and kitchenette are all in an open space, however it works quite effectively and was quite roomy for the two of us. The apartment has a certain rustic charm with its uneven beams and barn type door and makes you feel as though you are in the English country-side, along with the 3 chickens that wander about outside. The Wifi was effective and everything works with plenty of hot water and heating as needed. The front load washer was a handy addition, particularly as international travellers. Plenty of travel information and books were provided for leisure reading. Nice greeting with overview of apartment features and location when we collected keys from proprietor’s main house on same site, and some breakfast supplies provided including homemade fresh bread adding to the ambiance of the accommodation style. Good instructions and advice on getting there were provided by email after we had booked. We found the location very convenient to the park and ride option off Cambridge road (A1307) to Cambridge city and in the opposite direction a car ride to the Co-Operative supermarket chain in Linton for supplies. There is also a bus to Cambridge (along the A1307) and a stop that is in walkable distance from the apartment to the A1307. Although we didn’t use it there is a pub/restaurant next door to The Granary. A parking space is allocated to the accommodation a few meters away just outside the Chalk Farm house, the proprietors residence. Cambridge itself is quite a busy city so it was nice to stay outside in the small village area of Babraham. It’s a very pleasant spot providing a comfortable stay and would definitely recommend this to others looking for a stay in proximity to Cambridge.

Liked best: Rustic atmosphere
Liked least: You do have to open the door and roof window when cooking as the fire alarm can go off but its not really a problem that limits your use of the accomodation as the building is isolated and stand alone

“Relaxing location and stay”

A really lovely open plan accomodation in the quiet setting of Babraham. We had originally looked at hotels but this offered a much better solution as we could eat in the lounge/kitchen whilst our daughter slept, as it was spacious enough for her bed to go by the side of the double. Fairly rustic but exactly as pictured and described which was just what we were looking for. We were left with some fresh eggs and home made bread along with other nice breakfast bits which was much appreciated. A nice friendly pub next door which offered discount to guest of the granary which served good food. I was doing a course in Cambridge and it was a good travelling distance especially early morning when it was quiet. If we were staying in te area again we would def come back, really friendly host and great location.

“Lovely quiet getaway”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the granary, it's warm and cosy yet open plan. For the same price as a hotel room you get lots of space, peace and quiet and the owners were happy to allow our dog to stay. There are chickens pottering around and we were greated by fresh eggs and other tasty treats for our breakfast.
The owners were friendly but non invasive. The Granary was clean and tidy. It's in a perfect location to feel like a rural break whilst still having easy access to the motorway and park and ride to get into Cambridge city centre.
