I am shocked at how bad it was.
Stale cold pitta. Dry chicken. Chewy lamb which I gave the cat.
Cold restaurant.
Wet salad.
No sauce or dip.

Downsides first. Cash only (but free ATM next door)
Not licensed (but very late opening supermarket next door and no corkage charged)
Very noisy music which seems have been copied badly from a radio and played loudly on a distorting sound system and a fair amount of people having noisy knees up.

So saying if you know these things and like the music, this place is exceptional.
The service is excellant and the staff very friendly. Extremely good value. The food is nicely presented and I can't remember eating lamb shish as good as this.

We are often trying to find small restaurants that may be off the beaten track. We found Maira and were pleasantly surprised.

They have a good selection of starters and we tried pastrami (sausage), humous and halloumi. They were nice, a bit too salty and served with soft bread.

For mains we had yogurt based kebabs. These were succulent and delicious and served with rice. The mixed platter had lamb and chicken selection of grill. This platter was good and meat was spicy and tender. This was served with a fresh salad and rice.

The decor of the place is nostalgic and basic.

Service is good. The price is reasonable. We fed a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children for £35)

There is free parking on the street after 6:00.
