I have frequented the Kingfisher several times and am never disappointed by either the friendliness or the quality of their food and drinks. The cafe is light, clean and airy and gives a very pleasant atmosphere for the clientele.
I thoroughly recommend that you give this lovely cafe a try.

Popped in on a Sunday morning for a latte and a toasted tea cake. I found the cafe to be clean and modern. The cafe staff were polite and efficient. I did not have to wait long for my order. The latte was very nice and the teacake tasty. The cafe is good value (especially compared to some of the chains). The cafe was busy which is "usually" a good sign. It is a limited menu, but I don't find that a problem if they do what they do well.

Oh dear - the overall impression is one of space and cleanliness but the community feel is lost leaving a soulless ambiance.

The menu is overpriced and uninspiring. A full veggie breakfast should be priced in the region of £5.00 - it does not warrant the £7.00 which I paid and the food did not taste as though it was freshly cooked - are the ingredients locally sourced and organic? There is very little to entice the youngsters. I think the owner needs to research other independent cafes in the area. Coffee needs to be excellent in order to attract young families and young mums to the cafe and I would say the latte that I ordered was very frothy and more of a substandard cappuccino.

The Kingfisher is in an ideal location near to the other bars and shops and there is no reason why it should not flourish under good ownership. The market is there but the cafe fails to target it.

The serving staff are friendly and helpful.

We’ve always liked the kingfisher as a good community cafe - the new owners have given it a fresh kick of paint which has left it feeling a little soulless but like any new business I’m sure it will find its own rhythm in time. We always have the breakfast there and just as before with the previous owners the hash browns are awful - soggy and undercooked! If these were right it’d be a 10/10 brekkie!

Went for lunch with a friend and had a perfect gluten free lunch; staff very helpful and willing to help out a newly diagnosed coeliac. Thanks Kingfisher, will be back
