Won a three course trial of the new menu. Wife and myself tried different items for each course. Even without the price advantage (free) they were all very good. My new favourite is Carne Festa Al Forno, brill. Took photo but file too big

So we went here for my partners dad's birthday as we all share a love of Italian food, however if I had know it was going to be such a disaster then I would have popped to frankie and Bennys next door.

When we arrived we were taken to a table after a wait at the door and being ignored by three members of staff, I would have forgiven this if the served hadn't of just thrown some menus down and just left, she literally didn't say a single word to us. Just made it seem like we had made her evening inconvenienced.
Anyway moving forward from here we ordered, the dishes arrived quickly (a little to quick if you ask a chef) which made me wonder who had cooked this (chef mic seems like he is head chef here)

You know when a dish comes out and it's cold on the edges but yet boiling hot in the middle, well for two of us we knew that chef microwave had certainly had a hand in our dishes. So with that in mind we decided to pay and make a quick escape, as I didn't want to stay for desert as the mains were so awful.

Overall the whole experience with service and food was a disappointment. As it currently stands I would AVOID this particular Bella and go to the one in the centre of Bristol or come to the cardiff one as they are great.

The Cabot Circus shopping centre was close to our hotel and most of the restaurant chains are located on the upper floor - usually with inside and outside tables. We had not been to Bella Italia for some time so this was our choice. Warm evening so we chose outside. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken by a friendly and efficient waitress. Pane Bella starter came with a good selection of breads and the right mix of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Our pasta dishes were well cooked - al dente - one with a creamy and the other a spicy chilli sauce. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived but the outside tables were almost full by 6pm.
