Fantastic curry with authentic, fresh flavours. The chicken tawa is a must, very deep flavours. Great staff and traditional setting, best curry house in Bristol! Incredibly rich and filling so doggy bag is needed! Can't wait to return! Cheers!

Been told to visit The clove by a customer of mine and I must say a tad disappointed. The food was average, service much the same, and the decor was quiet depressing. A flickering light in the gents toilets when the door was shut ,and a socket covered in black soot next to our table didn’t fill me with much confidence.

Wish I didn’t have to write this but we were so disappointed with the service received last night.
We had been out for drinks with friends and were looking for somewhere to eat and decided on The Clove.
This is my first ever experience of the place but our group had been going there for years so it’s such a shame. As we arrived at about 10.45pm we asked if they were still serving food to be told ‘yes’ and directed upstairs to a table.
Initially everything was great and the food was good save for a small hair found in one dish which we did not complain about!
But then when the time neared 11.30pm it became apparent that our presence in the restaurant seemed to be an inconvenience and the waiter was staring at us, being the last table left in the restaurant this made us uncomfortable, when one of our group asked ‘you want us out don’t you?’ to be told ‘we let you in as we could tell you had a few drinks and thought a hot curry would sober you up and we did say the restaurant closed at 11.30pm’ - how rude we thought. They did mention when we ordered the drinks about closing but we didn’t take that as we had to leave by that time. We did not cause a nuisance and just wanted some good food in good company. At the end of the day we were paying customers just like anyone else. If we knew we were going to be rushed out and made to feel so uncomfortable then we wouldn’t have had food there in the first place.
Normal etiquette would be to let your customers finish their food at their own pace even if after your normal opening hours (in this instance we wouldn’t have be too long) - working in catering you cannot expect everyone to finish at the same time and within half an hour of receiving their food - it’s just rude and meant we couldn’t enjoy our food or even finish it - what a waste of food and horrible experience. Then when paying we had worked out roughly that it was £20 each, half putting in cash and the other half paying by card and you presumed we had left you a tip as the meal cost £75 and we paid in total £80- this was not our intention and were never offered change but didn’t want to stay any longer or cause you anymore inconvenience! It was clear the waiter just wanted to go home by 11.30 so we had no choice in the matter. One of our party had not finished their drink so was then told to finish it in the bar - all in all not a good experience and we will not be back!
