“Great cottage in beautiful area”

We had a lovely week in the cottage with unseasonably fabulous weather. Could not believe how lovely this part of France is and just an hour from Calais. Lovely sandy beaches, great aquarium at bologne, azincourt,crecy and First World War history all within easy driving distance. The town of montreuil was so lovely and only about 15 mins away. The cottage itself is really spacious with loads of toys and equipment provided for young kids.lovely big and well equipped kitchen too. Nice outdoor area for eating and BBQ too. The duck pond is really quaint. There is a boulangerie,supermarket and restaurant a short drive away. Very picturesque,rural setting with so much to do with easy reach

“Lovely house in a lovely location!”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This is a great house in a lovely rural location. Stayed for eight days in mid-August. Perfect size for four adults and four children. The kitchen is spacious with lots of equipment supplied and there is a lovely outside seating area. And at the bottom of the garden is a beautiful duck pond - don't worry, it is fenced off to keep the little ones safe.

The owners were lovely and extremely helpful with lots of tips and advice on where to go and things to do with the kids.

All in all, we had a great time and there's lots to do with the kids with beautiful beaches and the charming Dennlys Parc all within an hours drive.

“Relaxing week in a delightful cottage in rural Pas-de-Calais”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The cottage is well laid out with plenty of 'elbow room' - more than enough for two parents and two teenagers, could easily take more. Comfortable bedrooms and a spacious lounge for relaxing but most of our time in the evening was spent on the patio area, soaking up the sunshine! This was after cooking evening meals in the well equipped kitchen with fresh French ingredients.

We were fortunate to be greeted by the owners, who gave us a warm welcome and provided some very helpful hints and tips on the region and where to go. The cottage is well located - about 45 minutes from Calais, along a very easy route from the ferry or Eurotunnel. Some of the activities we enjoyed were:
- The wall walk around the scenic fortified town of Montreuil, about 20 minutes drive;
- The beach at Le Touquet, fantastic on a sunny day;
- Seal watching at Berck-sur-Mer, on another gorgeous beach;
- The Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme, the steam railway around the Somme from Saint Valery to Le Crotoy, superb and just over an hour's drive;
- The 'Rando Rail', great fun but hard work pedalling along rails, near Lumbres about 25 minutes drive.

We also discovered a nice local restaurant (Auberge d'Hucqueliers, about 10 minutes drive) and a superb boulangerie a few minutes down the road.

Overall, a well placed location in the rural countryside, a well equipped and comfortable cottage, and a very enjoyable week!

“Full of rustic charm and MUCH bigger than anticipated”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Just returned from a lovely stay in this property. The owners are friendly and helpful, providing a warm welcome. The property is much larger than we expected and there is loads of space both inside and out. An ideal place to stay to see the region but with enough facilities to enjoy cooking and relaxing at the property too. The stairs are steepish and open but our two year old had no issues with them and we were informed about them in advance. A lovely stay at a very reasonable price.
