Incredible
Beautiful and inviting! Diana is gracious and ready to impart her extensive knowledge about the area. From the time we booked Diana was proactive in sending us the ferry schedule and sent me a text on our expected arrival day to ensure we knew how to get the her place. When we arrived she was there to greet us. We stayed in the cottage for 6 nights and it was so nice the get up in the morning and make our own breakfast. Her grounds are a beautiful and it was like our own little oasis. We ate apples from her tree and wandered the premises which has a stream running through it. Thank you so much Diana! Can't wait to return.

Met our needs perfectly and beautifully
Spent a week at the Boxwood Cottage with 1 adult, 2 seniors and a 12 year old while we visited family in PR. A lovely rustic cottage with gorgeous and expansive gardens. Very convenient for all PR activities. Diana was a great host - there to greet us and show us around, available for questions but also gave us our privacy. It was like our own home for a week. We would certainly return. Thanks!

Beautiful Property!
Boxwood Cottages and Garden was amazing. My stay was very enjoyable and the back yard was spectacular. (Plants, trees, areas to enjoy morning coffee or resting) Front of the property has a great view of the ocean. Quite atmosphere and create place to get away! Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Property on the Sunshine Coast
We stayed in both the Boxwood Suite and the Boxwood Cottage in September 2015 with a group of 8 for a family reunion. The Suite had larger bedrooms with a small but functional kitchen and living room. The Cottage had a full size kitchen and den but only 1 larger bedroom. The property is in an excellent location. Five minutes to the Sea Walk, the ferry docks, downtown and restaurants. Fantastic views and stunning grounds. The property is large with extensive gardens including hydrangea, lavender, a tree house, a creek with a bridge, bonsai trees and bamboo. Truly an oasis in an urban location. We had everything we needed to enjoy a family turkey dinner cooked in the cottage. Wonderful hostess Diana who takes such care with the charming historic property and the lovely grounds. Really an enjoyable stay that we all enjoyed. Highly recommended.

Lovely get away place with a wonderful garden
We had a really good time at Diana's place and the garden is absolutely gorgeous. Its location close to the ferry terminal made it really convenient for us and the space was just enough for all of us.

Great Place with an Amazing Garden
We stayed at Boxwood cottages for a post-wedding getaway and loved it. Diana is very hospitable and friendly and her gardens are stunning. We loved wandering through the whimsical property and sitting in the outdoor kitchen under the grapevines. Thank you Diana for the great stay!

A rustic cottage with the coolest backyard
Diana corresponded with me via email, answering any and all questions I had. The set prices are just that. They don't increase during high season. Diana wants it to be affordable to regular families. Upon arrival her son, Eric greeted us. What a sweet and helpful guy he was - bailing us out when there was a screw lodged into the crib panel preventing us from setting it up. He grabbed his toolbox and came over in a jiffy! Diana gave us a tour of the expansive property in the heart of Powell River (2 minutes away from all the stores like Walmart and quaint mom and pop joints). There are amazing hand-crafted meditation huts, hammocks, outdoor bbq areas, hidden sitting areas, a tree house, and the most wonderful flowers and plants imaginable! My daughter loved exploring the gardens and picking boysenberries and blueberries for a healthy snack. Diana even provided sleeping alternatives (Tree House -- it's legit and sooo cool!) should my mom's snoring keep us awake! My husband, friend, mom, 3 yo daughter and infant son arrived to the Boxwood Cottage to find a cozy space for us. It is an old house, built in the late 30s or early 40s, so it does creak and have lil unconventional nooks and crannies. The two rooms upstairs and two downstairs served their purpose. Since we arrived during the heat wave, Diana had purchased an extra fan for us. In the evenings, the breeze from the ocean runs from the front to the back of the house, airing it out so nicely. The steps leading up to the upstairs are small and quite steep. The kitchen had dishes, cutlery and pots. I would suggest a new, non-stick pan though! Despite that, we made do and cooked every day. With all of us sharing one bathroom, we didn't have any issues. Diana showed us the outdoor washroom we could use also. It was actually a very pretty space, not even close to an outhouse! All in all, our stay was memorable. The forest fires far away created a haze the last two days of our stay, but that didn't dampen our time at Boxwood. I would love to go back when the kids are a bit older so they can run free in the humongous yard. Diana makes a great marinade, so ask her to prepare some in advance. We forgot to buy ours and will put in an order for friends to bring home next time!

it is helpful for your honest review, It allows me to improve what my place is lacking and what I have that should be proud of. I will buy some non sticking pans and rubber spatula; wooden spoons for the guests who wish to use them. The Cottage is build in the early 30's by a home owner,The stairway is narrow and steep, I had a hand railing installed precise for this reason. The builder's son is still living inPowell River. I enjoyed talking to your mom, and seeing your young daughter exploring in my garden. It was my pleasure to host a cheerful family like yours. I hope to see you in the future. sincerely, Diana

Fabulous and serene
We stayed here in May for the BC Performing Arts Festival. It was a great week. The garden is beautiful and interesting. Diana is a gracious and open host and welcomes all guests to share and appreciate her beautiful property. She is a horticultural graduate and if you love gardens she loves to share her knowledge. While you are there you feel very welcome, but your privacy is also respected. We stayed in the historical cottage, which is Arts and Craft style and charming. It is somewhat rustic, but overall well equipped (e.g. the kitchen, furniture) and the beds are very comfortable - although small because of the small rooms. I managed to work while my daughter was in performance classes. The WIFI was great, but the best part of working was contemplating the view of the Salish Sea and beautiful sunsets from the desk. The location is an easy <10 minute walk to the main drag and beach and ferry terminal.
