“The best of rural S W France”
Reviewed 22 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This was my second stay at La Mouline, the first being five years ago. This is a true eco property, but you would hardly know it. The solar power system is so efficient, its quite incredible. The gite had all the home comforts you could possibly need and has a very relaxed atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed sitting outside on a deck chair under the trees in the evening sun, soaking up the sounds of the local natural environment. The site is in a very good location for visiting the many places of interesting the area. So many lovely traditional French things to do- visit the Pezenas market, join in the fun of the local fete (eating and dancing in Autignac's village square), trips to the beach and a Cathar castle tool. The area is full of typical sleepy French villages surrounded by vineyards. The local wine is also excellent too. What more could you want. Bonnes vacances!

“Perfect little base for our family”
Reviewed 26 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We really enjoyed our short stay here. With 2 children (aged 10 & 7) we needed somewhere with stuff to do - and La Mouline really had a handle on this for them - woods to explore, table tennis, badminton, fun trolls and more. It was a wonderful welcome by Jo and Ian and the house had all the things you might need and some thoughtful extras that we really appreciated like picnic/beach blanket, cool box and floppy sun hats.
It's in a lovely quiet location with some good vineyards close by. A pleasant enough 30min drive to the clean, calm beach which had adequate facilities.

The accommodation is bijou but very comfortable and perfectly formed for the four of us (just mind your head!). If you're after great luxury, keep looking, but if you want decent, great value well appointed accommodation with a warm welcome and as a base to explore the area then this is the perfect place.

The local eatery was nice and had a good family vibe. We had the BEST burger ever, though some of the dishes were less enjoyable.

Thanks Jo and Ian - our stay with you really set off our holiday well. Keep doing what you're doing...

“Tranquil retreat in the heart of the Languedoc”
Reviewed 21 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Had an lovely stay here for a week this August. The gite is well equipped for self catering and has been very tastefully modernised, whist keeping the traditional rustic feel of staying in an old olive mill. There's plenty of outdoor space and a lovely garden to explore; complete with a hand made wooden bridge, stream, woodland, and private guest veranda for al fresco dining.
It's just a short 15 minute walk to the closest village of Autignac. Very easily accessible for those fresh croissants and pain au chocolat from the local Boulangerie in the morning. We've had trips to the beach, kayaking at a nearby river and enjoyed exploring the local market towns. The owners Jo and Ian have been very accommodating and are always on hand to give advice or recommendations if needed. A thoroughly enjoyable stay at La Mouline!

“Pleasant eco friendly accommodation”
Reviewed 25 March 2014 for a stay in April 2013

I have stayed at La Mouline on two occassions, both times with my family. The hosts are pleasant and helpful and know the local area well. The owners are English and Jo is an excellent French speaker; which was very helpful when we needed a garage to fix our car! The location is rurual and peaceful, but an easy walk into nearby Autignac. The accommodation is simple and clean. The property is not on the main grid and as such electricity should be used sparingly. There are plenty of kitchen utensils and serving dishes provided. We found this a useful base to explore the local area.

“We would definitely recommend this gite to anybody”
Reviewed 24 March 2014 for a stay in July 2012

We had a wonderful stay at this delightfully calm and tranquil gite surrounded by vineyards. The gite is very comfortable and well appointed and cool in the heat of summer. It is a lovely area for walking and cycling. Beziers and the Canal du Midi is not far away and well worth a visit and the village of Autignac itself is charming with a boulangarie that sells the nicest french bread I have ever tasted. Our hosts Jo and Ian made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. They told us to not forget, on a clear night to stargaze as being a little way from the village lights you get a really good show of the night sky and the odd satellite. Also try the Saturday market at nearby Pezenas which is great for just the atmosphere let alone all the goodies you can buy. We will certainly return.
