The view, the cabins, and the hosts were fantastic. Patty and Denis went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and even let us use their property for a family reunion/picnic. The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep each night, and the sounds of the seagulls greeted us each morning. Everything was clean, and the cabins were inviting. The furnishings were not ultra modern, but that was what we wanted - rustic and comfortable. We will be back.
A great location overlooking a walkable beach, with amazing sunsets!
Our cozy, quaint two bedroom chalet had everything we needed to foster rest, relaxation and to enjoy nature. Individual barbecues and picnic tables and a patio with chairs are provided for each cabin. We found the beds were fine, but would suggest a better sofa/chairs for the living room. Internet was sometimes intermittent but we were on vacation and didn't need to be connected all the time. Chalets were clean and tidy with utensils, dishes, and lots of bath towels for 4 guests.
Our hosts, Patty and Denis, were very friendly and welcoming, offered information on the area and made themselves available without being intrusive. Bicycles and kayaks are available for use.
Patty's Beach Chalets are a 15 minute drive from Bathurst where we purchased groceries for our week long stay. Fresh mussels and lobster are sold nearby, which we shared with relatives, and enjoyed immensely.
We were visiting from BC, along with family from Ontario, and hope to return again in the future.
When we arrived the cottage seemed clean and serene. The view is undeniably beautiful, but extremely windy and cold this time of year.
Unfortunately the beds were extremely uncomfortable to the point of being unable to sleep at all, and the couches were just as bad. The dishes were all dirty in the cupboards (we had to wash them all before using them) and there was a huge lack of supplies (garbage bags, scrubbing brushes for dishes, and paper towel or napkins). The knives in the kitchen are terribly dull and the pots and pans are dangerous (handles loose and falling off).
Towels in the bathrooms were riddled with holes, and the toilet ran the entire weekend.
The wifi access was shoddy at best - with almost no signal the whole time we were there.
There were no bikes or kayaks to be seen, and the hosts were so rarely home that we never even had a chance to ask them about using a boat or a bicycle, which were selling features when we booked the cottage for the weekend.
An unfortunate way to spend $350+, I will not be returning.
This was a great location right on the Chaleur Bay with a nice beach and stunning sunsets. The cottage was very clean and with great amenities. Wee would certainly come back.

My husband, our son and I have stayed at Patty's cottages this summer and last. We absolutely loved our stay each time we even extended our stay by a night because we weren't ready to leave yet! The cottages are clean and cosy! The beach is just perfect and the sunsets are amazing. Patty and her husband are both so friendly and welcoming! Looking forward to next year already!
