You have to swim or go by kajak inside the cave and you get to the small bech which is hidden inside. Very insteresting place. But be prepare that you are in the National park and you have to pay 200bht by entrance.

Snorkeling in this area was interesting, plenty of fish to look at, had to snorkel through cave to come up onto beach, impressive scenery. But watch our for canoeists when snorkeling, it can get busy . Better to go in the afternoon when it's a bit quieter. Or do trip as part of a fishing/snorkeling trip.

Not much to add to other reviews, other than to question how people could give it less than 5 stars. This is a pretty unique natural phenomenon that just has to be seen to be believed. Do try to go in a small group and avoid the crowds and just wonder at the beauty of nature. Strong swimmer or not, wear a life jacket as part of the swim is in total darkness with cave walls close overhead and bats flapping about- you never know when an anxiety attack might strike.

Koh Mook or the Emerald Cave has to be accessed during low tide hours and is part of the 4 Island tours that operate from Phi Phi/ Lanta. Once you reach near the cave in a boat, you need to wear life jackets and headlights and start a floating line in the sea towards the mouth of the cave. The guides lead and also provide lifebuoys for those who cant swim. once into the cave, you'd be mesmerized by the emerald reflection of the water on the ceiling of the cave. after you cross 80 metres of distance, you end up in a small beach surrounded by steep wooded cliffs that featured in the movie, 'The Beach'. This is a not to miss attraction.
