“Great Rental”

We stayed for a week in this well appointed and comfortable riverside rental and were very satisfied. Lovely views, and always something happening on the river. We saw the black bears regularly, even swimming across the river with cubs. Turkey buzzards, bald eagles, osprey, herons and kingfishers abounded. The only disappointment was the fishing. Only managed 3 pink salmon all week. The water was very low due to the long dry spell. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time and would unreservedly recommend this vacation rental. It was easy to communicate with Ken.(from UK) It was also a pleasure to meet his mother, Solange, who occupies the basement suite. She was never intrusive, and indeed was a knowledgable source of local information.

“Well appointed, beautiful view, accessible vacation home”

My wife and I stayed from July 16-23/2016. The owner, Ken was very accommodating as my wife uses a wheelchair. We didn't have to worry about accessibility as everything was on one level with hardwood floors and no carpet. The master bedroom has a large sliding door to an attached large deck with an excellent view of the Campbell River. Wildlife abounds with Pink Salmon migrating through the river at this time of year. On our last night we saw a Seal venture into the River in search of salmon. The property is a fisherman's paradise with easy access to the river (don't forget a walking staff because of rocks). Ken is an extremely knowledgable and helpful fly fishing guide who can answer all your questions. The house is well appointed with a natural gas range, newer appliances and everything you need to cook and be comfortable. The property is close to restaurants and grocery stores as well. Overall we highly recommend this property and we had a great stay!

“Right on the River”

Great house, newly renovated, and a few steps away from the river! Its close to town and all of the shops. The house itself is comfortable and clean and was the perfect place for our group.
We cooked all of our meals at the house and often ate lunch in the backyard, right next to the river. We couldn't have asked for a better place. Would definitely recommend, especially for a group of adults. We didn't have cell service on our American phones so the Wifi in the house was very handy for keeping in touch with family.
The owner was friendly and accommodating and made everything very easy for us.

“Bears, views, and tough fishing”

This property is right on the banks of the Campbell River, and it is possible to wade from the property to fish. When we were there there were disappointing numbers of Coho salmon, due to unseasonal drought and heat. However we still caught a few, unguided. The views from the house balcony and garden are exceptional, and would delight even non -fisherfolk. Bald eagles and herons and other birds abound. The house itself is very well designed, well equipped, and comfortable, with two double, and two twin beds.It is situated about 7 minutes drive from the town centre , in a quiet location, set back well from the road. The owner offers guided fishing trips. The most memorable aspect was the black bears that regularly walked through the garden, and along the opposite bank!

“Beyond Expectations”

I wasn't expecting such crisp, modern accommodations. The view of the river was just amazing and all of my hopes for viewing wildlife were met and more. There was the thrilling (but safe) encounter with the bear in the back yard, the bear sauntering along the far shore (great video) and the farewell morning with a Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Great Blue Heron and the salmon leaping in the morning light. Throw in a spontaneous hike on Quadra Island that turned out to be one of our favorites and I end my stay on the Island very satisfied.
