“Loved this place!”

Porteau Cove Provincial Park

We decided to visit on a whim, on our way to Vancouver.

It was recommended by a couple we met in Whistler.

Arrived mid afternoon and had lots of fun!

Tide was coming in, but we were still able to swim, search for creatures (crabs, fish & clams) and the water wasn’t too cold!

We enjoyed walking on the pier and reading about some of the local wildlife on the sign displays.

Would love to come back in a warm day and snorkel :)

Oh and it’s FREE!!

Thank Matthew M

A stunning location to stop on route 99 between Vancouver and Whistler. The views are absolutely amazing and well worth a short break on a drive that already boasts beautiful scenery.

We only stopped briefly as part of an excursion but there are toilets and camping facilities as well as trails that can be enjoyed if you stop for a while.

We stumbled upon this cove on our way home from Pemberton. It was the perfect place to stop and stretch our legs after a long drive. There are a lot of spaces to park the car and the area is well maintained!

Hi Isurehopeso,

Even though you "know the park very well" you still decide to off leash your dog in one of the few protected places in Howe Sound. I'm sure you made the day for staff who had to stop what they were doing to make sure innocent sea birds and mammals are not being chased by your dog. There are better places to off leash your dog seaside.

We took a turn off the 99 highway to stretch our legs and came across this gem. Beach, trails, toilets, picturesque view and a decent car park plus I think a camping area for vans just down the road. Lovely spot with some great views and just a place to rest and relax before driving on, unless you fancy an hour or so on the beach or for a swim.

Thank ShaunL
