We had an incredible stay at the Highland Manor. This is a truly unique accommodation.

The moment we walked in we knew we had found something special. Linda and Paul's gorgeous Victorian mansion is without a doubt in the top 10 places I've ever stayed. It is like walking inside of a perfectly preserved museum artifact. The care they put into this home shows. They are gracious, dedicated hosts that care deeply about the satisfaction of their guests. They clearly have a deep sense of joy when someone appreciates their historic home as much as they do.

The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. Everything was immaculately clean. It is also a very quiet accommodation. We slept very well.

The two breakfasts we had, cooked by Linda, were both incredible. To say food is important to me would be a massive understatement. I consider myself obsessed with food and cooking. The eggs and French toast Linda made for us were outstanding and refined. We kept talking about it on the way home.

There are many board games/card games for guests to use, as well as a wealth of interesting reading material, plus a piano and a gorgeous wraparound porch which we ate both of our breakfasts on.

Owen Sound is a charming little town and the Highland Manor is perhaps its crown jewel. It was the perfect home base for our exploration of the Bruce Peninsula. We hope to return again in the not so distant future.

To Linda and Paul, it was a genuine pleasure meeting you both and we thank you deeply for a unique and memorable experience. All the best and good luck.

Elias

We enjoyed everything about The Highland Manor! Linda and Paul are the best hosts, welcoming guests to their elegant historic home, with a relaxed friendliness. We stayed for 3 nights. Our room was spacious, quiet and spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable, and the linens were extremely good quality. 3 nights of solid sleep for both my husband and I....yes!! Followed by delicious breakfasts each morning, including fresh fruit and excellent coffee! We also took full advantage of the lovely verandah to enjoy some drinks and take out. In fact, we convinced our hosts to join us for “5 o’clocks” and share some tales and tips from their own travels! We have stayed in 100’s of B and B’s around the world over the past 30 years, and we cannot recall a better stay than the one we had at the Highland Manor.

Stayed for two nights for the first time. Exceptional. Linda and Paul are fantastic hosts, the Manor is beautiful, and the breakfasts delicious (Emily was great). Very well maintained property with wrap-around porch for reading and relaxing. Definitely going back.

When we arrived, my wife and I were welcomed by Linda and Paul and immediately we felt right at home. Even though we arrived a little later than expected, they took the time to chat with us for a bit about our vacation so far, and soon we felt like old friends! We were impressed by the cleanliness of everything and their responsible covid procedures, and the obvious care they take in keeping their home beautiful. The home is located on a beautiful property overlooking large trees in the backyard, with a calm atmosphere that is perfect for an evening of relaxation. We couldn’t have asked for anything more…friendly owners; very pleasant and attentive staff during our very tasty breakfast; a very cozy and comfortable clean room and a beautiful home with sitting rooms to visit and within a short walk to downtown. We will definitely go back the next time we are in the area!

The moment we arrived, we were welcomed by our hosts Linda and Paul and given the grand tour of this magnificent Victorian manor. We immediately felt at home , and enjoyed every minute of our stay… from the luxurious Ross room with our own private balcony and tempurpedic mattress bed , a scrumptious pancake breakfast with fresh fruit, along with wonderful conversation with our lovely hosts … all this in the most idyllic of places…we've never felt more spoiled! It is beyond obvious that Linda and Paul put their heart and soul into their home and they strive to ensure that their guests have a wonderful experience. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and how safe we felt during our stay here. Location is perfect as it is a 10 minute walk to downtown, restaurants and waterfront. We can’t wait to come visit again!

Room tip: Ross room has its own private balcony
