Lovely little cottage. Nicely presented and easy walking distance to the pub. Good communication from owner. Would definitely book again.

“Cosy cottage in the Peak District”
Reviewed 26 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

A well equipped and tastefully designed interior. We enjoyed the wood burner - it was quite snowy when we were there and we stayed in for both of our nights with a nice warm fire burning. Jane is a very friendly host and there are homemade cookies or flapjacks waiting for you on your arrival. Good location near Hartington.

I'm glad you made use of the wood burner and it is such a cosy cottage that you don;t want to venture far especially if there is snow on the ground! Glad you had a nice couple of days. Jane

“Enjoyed Immensely”
Reviewed 18 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Found this on Trip Advisor looking for a Peak District getaway. Staying in quite a few hotels, the price seemed fair when you include the extra space, additional room, WiFi (which is needed without phone signal).

When we arrived, the attention to detail was what made this cottage stand out - homemade baked goodies, stocked nespresso machine, board games, books.

The cottage had everything needed for a pleasent stay, which includes breathtakingly views, stunning walks, a log fire, a warm heated cottage with a cute bed/bathroom.

Would highly recommend and would go back

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. Glad you enjoyed your couple of days away and sometimes that is all you need to relax. The Wifi is a huge necessity and we have recently boosted it to give a good signal which is what we all require now! Come back and see us again if you need a break in the Peak District. Jane

“Perfect little cottage”
Reviewed 2 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Just came back from a weekend stay and it's been a perfect getaway. Got lost a bit on the way but the owner (Jane) was very helpful on the phone and managed to guide us right to the door.
The cottage was great with all the amenities, cooking equipment, fireplace and very clean as well. We even had a tin of complimentary delicious biscuits to welcome us in.

The location is excellent as well, perfect for walking and not to far to a pub as well.
If you're a fan of cheese there is a great "Old Cheese Shop" in the nearby village of Hartington.

Am so pleased you enjoyed your weekend at Cheese Press Cottage. Sorry you got a bit lost - I don't think arriving in the dark with lots of snow helps but glad you found us in the end. Do come back and see us again when there isn't snow on the ground but all the guests seem to love it when it looks like a scene from the Alps! Jane

Despite only having a couple of days with us you certainly got the extremes of weather! Really pleased you enjoyed your time with us and come back and see us again - hopefully no snow! Though everywhere does look very pretty when the hills are covered in snow. Thanks for taking the time to write a review and it was very nice to meet you both. Jane
