We were there for 4 nights and loved the hotel. The bedrooms (we stayed at the Beach Villa and the Lagoon Cottage) were lovely, I personally recommend the Beach Villa.
The manager Stuart and Sheron from reception are exceptional, very helpful and do everything to make your stay perfect.
Also the spa is amazing.

Couldn't recommend more.

On our first visit to Jamaica, my husband and I stayed at the GoldenEye. Not only was all the James Bond memorabilia interesting and accurate, but the service, food and extras were exceptional. We stayed in a cottage and enjoyed access to our personal kayak daily, snorkeling outside our deck or just sunbathing. We could kayak to the beach, get a drink and lunch and kayak back to our room for an afternoon nap. We also loved the mosquito netting at night, but didn't feel that the mosquitos were all the bad. They were only really out between 5-7pm. Our favorites were the coffee, Blackwell rum, Red Stripe and local food options. The beach and surrounding grounds are beautiful and well kept. We stayed for five days and plan to return.

Stumbled across this place on the internet and thought it was such a unique experience that I had to go there. Communication was good ahead of time and our check in tour of the property was so helpful. Really liked all of the landscaping and green space. Never felt like I was at a resort with a bunch of other visitors. The food was so good and service was incredible! We stayed in one of the huts and loved our room! The design was great and really enjoyed our time relaxing on the porch. I would love to return to Goldeneye again! I enjoyed reading the book about Goldeneye before going there.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful week at GoldenEye. The resort has a very special atmosphere, it is laid back without being slack, it is natural but not without luxury, a wonderful balance.
Accommodation is in huts or villas on the edge of the lagoon, the beach or a cove.
However, I loved our beach hut. The upstairs octagonal bedroom was nestled in the trees and the wind blew through the wooden louvred windows. There was also a veranda where we could sit & watch the sea and downstairs an open air shower & bath.
We spent time relaxing on Button beach where the bay was gently sloping but also good for swimming. Unfortunately during our stay the weather was stormy and so the glass bottomed boat did not venture out & water sports were also affected by the choppy sea.
At the Bamboo Grill on the beach, the jerk chicken & pork, the coconut shrimp, curried snapper, pumpkin rice & wraps were all fantastic. Breakfasts & meals at the Bizot bar were also very good but we found the Gazebo restaurant a disappointment. The location is great overlooking the lagoon, the bridge and sea but at night that is lost. The food was mediocre, the service in the restaurant was poor, prices were high & for dessert they had even run out of bananas !
Overall the service was amazing. Everyone that we met, regardless of their job was charming, helpful and very proud of GoldenEye. A special mention for Nashawn &
Conroy who were great making drinks and generally spoiling us at the Bamboo Grill.
The two hour transit from the airport is not very interesting and visiting the Blue mountains, waterfalls or plantations involves about 3 hours driving.
We were fortunate to meet Chris Blackwell and he kindly showed us the Fleming villa. This and a wonderful trip to Firefly, Noel Coward’s home were definitely highlights for my husband, an Ian Fleming fan.
GoldenEye is a very special place, where you can relax in a cocoon away from the rest of the world. A truly magical visit.

Room tip: The beach huts are a wonderful experience.

Dear annoflondon:

Thank you so much for your lovely review of GoldenEye.

We are very happy to hear you loved the Beach Hut experience, "hut life" which we call the ultimate of barefoot luxuries!

The Bamboo Beach Grill has become a popular spot for all our guests who get to experience a little "rustic" Jamaica style menu and atmosphere.

We will pass on your lovely kudos on the team, thank you!

We will also definitely look into the lighting of the lagoon area more for dinner experiences - right now we have beautiful lighting on the Bridge which helps to create the romantic ambience at night.

Please come back and visit again soon!

One Love,
