Stayed 4 nights end of Septmember 2018 for my 52rd bday with my husband (Thurs-Mon). Checked in next door which for some reason I thought was going to be some huge fancy resort Hotel, but it was nothing more that a little motel. Lady was extremely nice. First impression of the outside was not so great. Older, old school 2 story motel type. Very small parking lot. But, I knew this ahead of time from reading the reviews. Inside, the rooms were much nicer. Again, VERY cramped, but again, knew this going in. The bed was super comfortable. We were able to unload our clothes into drawers and an armoire. Unfortunately when we unloaded the car, it was already dark and the entire stairs and outside upstairs walkway was completely pitch black. I walked super super slow and was careful but the last step, which is a narrow step and extra tall, I completely missed coming down. I didn't fall down but jarred my back to the point we came back early from the casinos that night so I could take an advil and pass out. Next day, I was still sore and ended my hiking day. I did try to call the office (phone didn't work), so I had to walk over there. Turns out the lights were on timers and maintenance hadn't changed them for the earlier sundown. I held a flashlight while the lady called maintenance and he walked her through getting the lights on. The next 4 days, there wasn't any decent parking so we parked out back (which was slightly scary) but there is zero lighting and uneven ground on the side of the building to walk back there. I reported this when leaving this morning. We put our sign out to get our room serviced and were gone most of the day when a guy came to the door and explained he wasn't allowed in the room while we were there (even though we were gone practically all day) . So he just gave us towels.
DO NOT expect any privacy in this room lol. Yes, it's for couples but still, the bath is one foot from the bed with a glass wall adjoining the shower which is in the bathroom across from the toilet. If you want to at least shut the door to use the toilet, its a heavy pocket door that is super duper hard to open and close, but even then you can practically see the toilet from the bed through the glass wall. Also, forget sleeping in to darkness like in most motels/hotels. Not happening. The place was supposedly full and there were cars but literally saw maybe two couples for a second the entire time and the rooms all around us had blinds partially opened and were empty. Quiet. This was a good thing. Ice was conveniently located. I purposely chose this place for NO KIDS and NO DOGS. I am very afraid of all dogs, and allergic. Came out the first day with a lady with a dog talking to the ladies that work there right by my car for quite awhile so I had to wait a half hour to even leave. Then later when I went to talk to the office about the stairs/lights and the dog, I couldn't even go into the office because there was a DOG right inside (the glass door). So irritated, so I walked back.
Okay, now for the good things. Place was located near everything. You could stay here for a month and find something new to do everyday in walking distance. The beach is also close. It's in a quaint little neighborhood with mostly a million other little motels. There were Lime scooters and bikes (Google it, I highly recommend them). That was the highlight of our trip for sure. Had an absolute blast on them and they were everywhere in this neighborhood. Overall, we had a great 5 days staying here for my birthday and unlike other hotels I've stayed at with the Jacuzzi tubs, this one worked perfectly..super hot, in a good spot to watch t.v. . Could use some sort of handle as it is a bit challenging to get in and out. Refrigerator was a decent size and finally got cold after the 2nd day. Little coffee pot in the room, worked. Needed a little table and maybe chair. We were forever trying to find places to set things down , having to use the edge of the tub. I'll try to post pics on here tomorrow from my phone. Overall, I believe the price was decent for what we received and the location. Would stay again.
