Great place for our family reunion!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Aug 2019
Our family really enjoyed our stay at Camp Richardson. After calling several campgrounds in the area, we were able to reserve 4 sites all connected to each other. The coffee/espresso shop, ice cream parlor and general store were all fun to have within a short walking distance. The beautiful and amazing lake was also just a 5 minute walk from our sites. We look forward to our next reunion!!

I went online I did all of the booking requirements I got an email saying space was available and to give them a call in the morning. I attempted to call several times left a voicemail and emailed twice to attempt to confirm the RV space. When I finally got a hold of somebody I was told that they had rented it out from underneath me even though I had already been email communicating with everybody so unfortunately I won’t be able to enjoy the space thank you I went online I did all of the booking requirements I got an email saying space was available and to give them a call in the morning. Hello Christop2cross,
First, we really appreciate that you shared your feedback. It's always hard to learn that we've fallen short, but it also alerts us to problems that need to be addressed. Next, please accept our sincere apologies. It must have been incredibly frustrating for you to follow the correct steps only to have your spot taken out from under you. We work hard to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone, and it appears that this time we fell short. Please understand that such mix ups are not the norm at Camp Rich, and we hope you'll allow us the opportunity to earn your trust back. Please don't hesitate to contact the resort if you'd like to discuss your experience further.

Convenient beachside location with good amenities and courteous staff. We stayed in the RV village for 2 nights and had a memorable stay. Most of the sites are wooded, have shade, and ours happened to have full hookups. We forgot the water hose, the staff loaned us one free of charge.

We spent most of our days on the private beach, also took a lake cruise offered by the property.

The only downside was that the bathrooms are old and not as clean. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Hello Jovial-Wanderer,
It sounds like your username is quite accurate ;)! We couldn't be more thrilled to know you had such a great time at Camp Rich. That's our goal! However, please accept our apologies for the state of the restrooms. We work hard to keep the camp facilities clean and in working order, so we'll certainly address these concerns. Thanks, again, for sharing your awesome, positive vibes! You are absolutely welcome to come back here (in a heartbeat) any time!

We’ve been staying in our motorhome at Camp Rich for 14 years. We even stayed there when the big fire hit the entire area years ago! It was a 4th of July we will never forget! They recently upgraded the RV camp sites which included new electrical and water lines and even re-numbered the spaces to make more sense! Our only complaint with the remodel is that they installed the new water and electrical lines at the entrance to each site. We were prepared for the extra distance, but most other campers didn’t have extension power cables or longer water hoses. They added septic lines to some sites, but most are still water and electrical service only. They have a new location for the RV Kiosk for checking in and it solved a huge issue of the RV’s blocking 89 while waiting in line to check in. The beach is across 89 and a moderate walk down a sloped driveway. Once at the beach, you have nice shady spots to enjoy the afternoon. The Resort also rents bikes, power boats, PWC’s, pedal boats and water toys, just to name a few. The area is full of trees and wildlife. No pets are allowed and for good reason. Sadly, over the years, we have seen some guests that sneaked their pets in, inside their RV’s, lose their pets forever when their pets accidentally got out of their RV’s and disappeared into the forest never to return.

Room tip: Request an RV site up the hill to avoid being right on the highway. Traffic flows 24/7 and is very heavy and noisy during the weekend!

Had a great couple of days here staying in the RV site. Loved the lake and beach. Got a bit of a liking for the Rum Runner cocktails in the bar by the lake. But the highlight has to be the nature, including being joined by Cinammon the local bear for dinner! Would definitely recommend staying here

This is what the lake and facilities looked like at the turn of the last century! Rustic is the word. Beds are comfortable and if staying at least a week, maid service is provided mid way. Walking distance to lake, morning pastries and coffee, the best ice cream around, and breakfast if needed. This is a place you bring your kids and grand kids to just have fun!!

Room tip: Not all cabins are on beach but are at least a very short walk until you are on the beach.

Hi Carolyn G :) We couldn't agree more! Old Tahoe charm is what this place is all about, and we're glad you feel the same way. Thanks for visiting, and please come back again soon!
