I spent three nights here while my partner was attending a work event in Lake Tahoe, and I can't imagine there's a better place in the area to stay. The townhouse felt like home away from home, with a kitchenette, a living room area, a huge deck, and a separate bedroom on a different floor. Family members in Reno came up to hang out while we were there and it was easy to host them downstairs without having to sit on the bed and clean up all our suitcases like we would in a normal hotel room. Beyond the setup, the design and furniture they chose are great. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, the enormous tub was great for reading and relaxing, and the whole place has a cozy Nordic vibe. Little touches like a Chemex and ground coffee being available in the morning added to the luxury feel.
Apart from the room, the hotel itself was an excellent place to stay. Wifi was great, I was working during the day and had no trouble uploading documents and taking video calls. The food at the restaurant was delicious and I loved the cocktails named after the staff's pets! When work was done, it's a quick walk down to the beach (with access to a private shared beach area!), no need to fight over parking. Staff was responsive and easily available. And it's close to lots of restaurants, a brewery, equipment rentals, etc.
I try to be fair and state all the cons of any place I stay as well as the pros; the most I can come up with is that the motion sensor lights in the bathroom can be a bit bright if you get up in the middle of the night. That's it, that's the only thing I can think of that wasn't perfect. Desolation was a fantastic place and I highly recommend it.
