We had dinner at the Olympia Cafe and Deli. My husband had the chicken, which he said was delicious, I had the seafood pasta, which was also very good. They even prepared a different sauce because I am lactose-intolerant. The wine is okay, served a bit too warm, and it is pretty noisy inside. The cafe does not take bookings, but there is a waiting list and in case it's full.

Kalk Bay is on the train line with a good service but the little town is being killed by cars. At least it was when we dropped in on Black Friday.
Olympia cafe is a nice simple fish restaurant. I has seared tuna and my companions had yellowtail and fish cakes. All excellent.

Cooked on grill behind bar
Service was pleasant

Great spot, casual, friendly, packed with locals. Get there at 5.30 by 6, it’s humming. Mussels and soup were very good. Will go again.

We were looking for a good place to have lunch. Where better than Olympia Cafe, for vibe, view, interesting menu.

We both needed some comfort food, and loved the ill-described Soft Spinach Polenta, which turned out to be a wonderful, hot and wholesome dish, made of polenta, porridge style with seeds and nuts, oodles of melted blue cheese and a bit of spinach, with a lovely, healthy mixed salad of greens, tomato, papaja and strawberries, dressed with sesame oil.

Moreish, gorgeous, hot and comforting,

The coffee was horrible!

Very noisy place for a business lunch, though.

Advice to patrons: Don't use the rest rooms. They are really not clean ... a fly sitting on the toilet seat, and the facilities have not been upgraded in many, many years. As for the journey through part of the kitchen, storage area, well, that was a bit of an education!
