We've jointly owned a 3 bed villa in Leila Playa for about 20 years with our best friends. However, we'd not used our week here for many years as it became difficult to take the children out of school and we tended to exchange our week in November for warmer Lanzarote. Fast forward to last October when just the 4 adults returned (our 4 'children' are all adults too now!). Our villa by the pool had been refurbished and we were so impressed with the new contemporary style, it was a real home from home. The resort has beautiful gardens, the beach is 2 minutes away and the new Boardwalk provides an easy walk along the coast to visit wonderful restaurants. The bar and Beach House restaurant onsite are good and all the staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in May 2018 again and have booked already for June 2019. The only trouble is the 'kids' want to come with us!

Went to Leyla Playa in Nov '17, on a, II getaway, presented to us as a Malaga location. Not a pleasant surprise to find out that it is some 40-50 km from Malaga. As a general experience, it was positive: beachfront location,a wonderful, well maintained tropical garden in the middle of the resort, reminding us a little of Monte Carlo, very well appointed apartment with partial view to the beach/sea and fairly easy access to shops and restaurants. But, what could have been a wonderful stay (the weather was also warm and sunny for Nov), was somewhat spoiled by a few details, rather irritant. The first is the access to/from the highway - when you arrive (by car) from Malaga or go towards Marbella, you have to make a detour, and not very simple either. Quite bothering if you want to visit Malaga or the rest of the Costa del Sol daily. Second, as Leyla Playa is situated right by the highway, the closer one is to the highway, the more intense and permanent the noise of the highway will be. That can be very disturbing and irritating, if you go for a nice period of relaxation by the sieaside..Third, I found it rather aggravating to be charged for the power used, and especially for the wi-fi an amount that is way more than what you have to pay in communist Cuba. All in all, I would not recommend the resort for more than a weekend.

Room tip: Less noise from the highway close to the beach and towards the garden.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I am sorry that the resort did not entirely fulfill your expectations. The access to the resort is something we are trying to resolve but it is proving to be a slow process. On a positive note, I'm pleased to advise that we no longer charge for wifi.

Have visited this resort a number of times (October school holiday week) the weather has been excellent every year. The staff are very professional, and friendly and the service you receive is first class. The well appointed apartments are clean and contain every thing that you will need for your stay. The grounds are well kept, and beautifully laid out, and the heated outdoor pool all that you could wish for. For those that are on a health kick there is a well appointed gymnasium with sauna and steam room. There are local supermarkets for self catering, and plenty of eating establishments as well as an on site restaurant

Room tip: apartments from sleeps four to sleeps eight (more if children are in cots)

Been here a number of times and can't praise it highly enough. Gardens are beautifully maintained and staff can't do enough to make the stay enjoyable. Apartments are well equipped with everything you need including towels for use in the apartment and others for use at the pool.

The restaurant serves great food at a reasonable price but if you want to eat elsewhere the boardwalk takes you to a number of different restaurants.

The apartments are located right on the beach giving good access to water sports and other amenities.

Outstanding resort!
