Only booked this travelodge because we were visiting and because it's 4-5 hours away didn't want to drive back the same day. Staff are friendly. Room was okay ,yes there were marks everywhere, but what do you want for a cheap budget hotel . On my downside is make sure you don't get room 6 as this is a very noisy room because you are close to the reception and all you can hear all night is the outside door getting banged by inconsiderate people. There is nothing around for food apart from a garage that sells hot stuff and subway but expensive. There is a folder in the travelodge where you can get food delivered to your rooms.

Stayed here for two nights for a family wedding nearby. Good value for half term, very clean & tidy, friendly staff & ideally placed. Was surprisingly quiet even though it is by the side of the A12. Only downside at present was the large amount of builders vans everywhere outside as there is a new food outlet being built opposite, but obviously this won't be long term. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

I stayed here because I went to a family wedding and it was a good base. I booked a family room as I was staying with my son. We only had 1 bath towel and hand towel between us, so had to go and get another one.The extra bed was only a put you up bed rather than another single. There was plenty for a single bed rather than a put you up.

A great place to stay if you are visiting Colchester or surrounding area. The lodge is quiet although just off the busy A12. It is very close to Colchester town and only a short car ride to the park and ride and other places like Colchester zoo and several national trust venues and beautiful walking area. The lodge staff are always friendly and helpful. This lodge is well worth using if you want a budget hotel.
