“Extremely clean and well presented”

The property at No 9 Dalegarth was extremely well presented and absolutely spotless. We thoroughly enjoyed our Mon to Friday stay and the property is well situated in Wharfedale ideal for walkers. The views were stunning with wildlife visible all around. We can also recommend the local pub, The Buck Inn, for meals and an excellent breakfast. The only criticisms we would have is that the spacious downstairs bathroom needs a shower curtain to prevent water spilling all over the floor, a necessity as the water pressure in the en suite shower is non existent. Also if staying in the winter the downstairs can be a lot colder than upstairs, the bill for electricity for the week was £29 and that was without turning the heating up. Otherwise we can thoroughly recommend this cottage for a quiet and peaceful holiday.

A wonderful stay at these lovely cottages which have everything that you could want. David and Sue so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The cottages have stunning views and they are extremely well maintained. Its a short walk to the Buck Inn were a friendly welcome awaits you - but take a torch.
Will definitely be back, hopefully later in the year

We're extremely grateful for your kind words and glad to hear how much you enjoyed your stay - not just in our cottage but from the welcome you received at The Buck Inn and the area in general. Clearly, you found that our location does not suffer from light pollution! It's a wonderful spot for star gazing. There was a torch in the cottage, permanently on charge, and we're sorry you did not notice it. Finally, we see that you are hoping to return and we shall be delighted to welcome you back. Au revoir! Warm regards, David and Susan Lusted

“Couldn't ask for better”

We have been to Dale Garth two years in a row, the second time June 2013. Last year we stayed in the Ghyll cottages, this year in the main Dalegarth complex. The accommodation was just like a home from home. Well equipped and clean. Mine hosts, David and Susan, couldn’t be more helpful. Had two superb holidays here and are hoping to go again in 2014.

“It gets no better than this.”

Stayed at The Ghyll which is one of the cottages owned by David and Susan. It is about 40 yards from The Buck Inn up the lane. The view from the back is stunning-looking up a the surround hills. The cottage itself has been designed for people with disabilities and is just perfect. It is beautifully maintained and very comfortable and having sky it is no problem if the weather is not great.Luckily we had great days. The bathroom is also a wetroom and has all facilities to make it perfect for anyone with difficulties(and anyone else). The bed is big enough for 4 people!! Though in my opinion no changes are needed Susan says she is renewing the kitchen soon so no doubt will be even better-if possible.

You were most generous in your comments and we are very grateful. We know that holidays are precious - and accommodation can make or mar them - and we're delighted that you clearly felt 'at home' and able to enjoy the Dales experience.

Warm regards,

Susan & David

Thank you for your kind words. Whenever a guest 'repeats' their visit it is taken as a great compliment by ourselves and, hopefully, offers confidence to others.

Warm regards
