Six of us came to the Swan for a reunion meal and safe to say we had a memorable time. The open fire, the ales on tap, the pleasant waitresses, the friendly chef and the filling food all added up to a great evening. Nothing was too much bother for the staff - we were served well and fed well - allowing us plenty of time to reminisce about our school days without feeling at all rushed.

Four of us booked a table for Tuesday evening. When we arrived the pub was fairly quiet and we were settled at our table . There was one young waitress serving both the bar and the food . Within a few minutes other diners started arriving (without bookings) and very quickly the pub started filling up . Despite being the only member of staff the young lady served everyone promptly and with a smile . We couldn’t have had better service or food ! I would highly recommend this lovely pub .

Second time eating here. Staff are extremely friendly, chatty and helpful. Beautiful building with fantastic open fire place.
Ordered baked Camembert and white bait to start very good.
Main for the ladies was crab mac n cheese which we were both disappointed with. Nibbled the husbands steak which was delicious. Good wine menu and choice of beers. Will definitely be coming back in the summer for music in the garden. Was told landlord is looking to leave, hope not as everything there is really good!

I’ve been coming to this pub now for 40 years and it’s been through various ups and downs. It’s a glorious 16th century building with an interesting dragon beam in the dining room and huge great welcoming fire in the main bar. For the last few months it’s been very well-managed and the pub food is predictable but very reliable. The fish and chips is indeed jumbo and delicious. It’s a welcoming local and we shall certainly go back regularly.

Booked ahead one Sunday and had a fantastic roast dinner with a superb dessert by a log fire. Will go out my way to return.
