We enjoyed a lovely weekend here with our spaniel. Great to be so close to the beautiful beach. The house had everything we needed and was immaculately presented.
Sands end is situated on a modern, quiet estate a stones throw from the beach. It is dog friendly, they even provide dog bowls and mats. Our 2 miniature dachshund' loved it here, and the completely enclosed courtyard was perfect for both us and them. The house was clean, and came supplied with everything you could need for your break, it even had a washing machine and dishwasher. There were enough glasses and crockery for any family, but it was the little touches that made all the difference, a cool bag and beach towels for days out, pristine white towels and flannels, coffee pods, milk, tea, sugar and condiments, but best of all a welcoming bottle of wine, lemon cake and shortbread that were waiting for us on arrival. Although the beach is just across the road, unfortunately this part you are unable to take dogs on during the summer season which was a great shame, I have mobility problems so was quite tricky for me to get on dog friendly areas of beach. We also found the pelican fish and chip shop was a mistake, as chip oil obviously hadn't been changed in an awful long time, so food tasted burnt and very greasy....good job it only opens at weekends. Food quite hit and miss as many places closed during week and also close ridiculously early. The dunes bar and restaurant was great, lovely food and friendly staff. Old lydd road is the best place for food, as you have a cafe, the owl public house, the dunes, a pizzeria and fish and chip shop.
