Great hotel in Cosenza

Review of Hotel Europa
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 Jun 2023via mobile
Great hotel outside of Cosenza. We had another hotel booked, but when we arrived it was in an unsafe area. Kevin at the front desk was able to accommodate our large group.
The rooms are nice! The pool is great. And Thr breakfast is amazing. 2 min walk to a mall. Very safe area. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Happily, the Hotel Europa is the perfect place to explore the authentic Italy that is still available in Calabria. We stayed for a week because we wanted to explore the area. The hotel seamlessly combined genuine hospitality with delicious food and modern accommodation. The location was perfect after a day of exploring the many natural and historical points of interest in Cosenza. We even went hunting for the fabled lost treasure of King Alaric where 25 tons of gold is supposedly buried under the Busento river. The hotel staff really took care of us and were very helpful with the details of our daily adventures.

Wanted to see Consenza, esp. the old quarter, and also visiting the beautiful lakes in nearby Sila National Park we stayed 4 nights in hotel Europa, situated in Cosenza's outskirt (suburban Rende). Nice hotel, nice pool, good parking but bad wifi internet. Really bad - often no connection at all in our room, and even sitting in the vestibule it was weak and fluctuating. It is hard to understand that such a nice hotel ddo not install more access points and/or more powerful broadcasting.

What do you need to know about this hotel? For Americans traveling with a family, this is an option as it has 1, 2, or 3 room options. The charge is economically sound as well. Make sure breakfast is included when you book. There is a charge if this isn't in the booking price. Breakfast is adequate. It needs to be replenished more often. The pool is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and not one second longer. In fact, my son wanted to swim at 5:55 and was stopped from entering the pool. You need a swim cap to swim which you can purchase for 1 Euro at the bar. Be aware that the pool is not the cleanest around the rim. Yes, the pool / bar area seems to always be booked for private parties. The service out there is slow in the evening if you want drinks. Smoking is plentiful if that is something you look for or look to avoid. The rooms were fine. There was a mildew patch in the corner of our shower, but everything else was fine. The AC was good. The front desk speak some English. Use your google translator and you will see the personality come to life. I think in this area if you try to speak the language, it is appreciated. I might stay again if I had to. I would most likely look for another place in Cosenza to stay.

Arrived in the city late and searched for a hotel. Found Europa, and called. Reasonable rate with breakfast included, so we booked for 3 nights. Nice breakfast options, and we ate 2 decent dinners in their restaurant. Staff was warm & friendly, but front desk a bit disorganized.

All in all it was perfect for us. Also found a nice italian restaurant nearby, Madra I believe.

We traveled from Sicily to the Easy coast and needed a place to stop for the night. This was perfect. The room was clean, spacious, air conditioned and quiet. The pool was a lovely way to cool off. The staff were attentive and patient with us (Americans).
