I booked a room a month ahead with Hillhead. I was contact by email in the middle of holiday to be told that my reservation in two days time was cancelled. When I enquired why, I was told "We have a wedding booked for a few days and the bride (annoyingly) wants another room. " This led to considerable anxiety whilst I sought for a place to sleep at very short notice whilst on holiday.
Then the owner lied to me about their ability to process a refund. Tripadvisor needed them to initiate the refund, and even tried OVER THREE DAYS to contact Hillhead on my behalf to talk them through the process, but there was no answer and eventually, my claim was escalated to a Global team who issued a partial refund, leaving me financially out of pocket and with a bad experience on my one holiday of the year. I am now having to issue a credit card chargeback to get my money back.
Other reviews show that cancellation is not uncommon for these people.
Clearly this business has zero concern for honouring bookings, doesn't care a jot for its customers, and is deeply unprofessional in its communications.
