Just sit and enjoy the views take in the Cretan way of life, Be prepared to be entertained by Emanuel right from the start .You are met at Heraklion Airport and whisked away to their most charming of homes,a little haven amongst the olive groves set in the sleepy villiage of Prassas.A lot of thought has gone into the creation of this Apartment with a lot of personal touches by Pamela, she is brilliant ,nothing is too much trouble and they will help with most things .My husband Tony and i have been visiting now for three years and celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Prince of Lillies hotel Karteros just down the hill from Prassas all the arrangements taken care of by Pamela .I cannot praise them enough for their kindness and generosity. This is no ordinary vacation but a visit to see friends ENJOY.
We staid a week in Prassas. Although not far from the airport – very convenient if you arrive at late hours and want to go to bed! – there is hardly any noise from airplanes taking off and landing. The views of Crete on to the Mediterranean Sea from the balcony are stunning (see the photographs on Tripadvisor). Pamela and Emanuel welcomed us late the first night with a scrumptious Greek salad and there home-made olive oil, red wine and Raki. Follow Pamela’s instructions how to get to the house; for some reason your SatNav does not work very accurately. Pamela explained ‘good things to do’ for our first time for a week on Crete and is very helpful available next door. There is a range of travel guide books in the house to help you further decide where to go. As the house is close to Heraklion, visiting the main sites – Knossos is at a 15 minutes’ drive – is easy to do. Because it is central to all beautiful places in Crete, nothing is more than a few hours away. The house has everything you need and the fan is more effective than an air-conditioning unit to keep the bedroom cool at night. Lidl at 5 minutes’ drive caters for all your main initial retail needs. In the evenings we often sat outside to read our books under the romantically lit up pergola. We recommend you book you next stay on Crete here at Pamela and Emanuel’s holiday home.

Lovely view. Pamela and Emmanuel could not have been nicer. We do recommend that you rent a car (Pamela and Emmanuel help arrange this.) The apartment is in a quiet village, with little to walk to, but Knossos and other interesting sites are near. It was great to have a washing machine and the kitchen is well equipt. Two quirks about the apartment: look at the photos of the bedroom/bath online-- there is only a half wall separating the bed from the toilet and shower and the walls of the bedroom only reach three quarters of the way to the ceiling. We definitely enjoyed our week in Prassas.
