“Quality apartment in great location”
Reviewed 7 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

My adult daughter and I stayed at Ca' Leda in late August/Early September 2016.
We wanted somewhere which was comfortable and convenient for our visit to this fantastic city. We were not disappointed !
Francesca met us at the Water Bus stop from the Airport and we walked the 5 minutes to the apartment, only having to cros one footbridge (important if you are carrying/pulling luggage).
The apartment itself was roomy, very clean and had all the facilities one would want for both a short and long stay.
Air Conditioning in the hallway and in one of the two bedrooms was very welcome as the daytime temperatures during our stay were over 28 degrees with te night time temperatures only a little lower.
The kitchen was well equipped with oven, fridge, gas hob, twin sinks etc and located just off the dining room.
The apartment was furnished with some really nice antique pieces which added character to the property.
Francesca was charming and although she lived quite some way from Venice, she left good contact details and plenty of information and guides in the apartment.
It was great to have somewhere in the heart of Venice to which we could retreat and rest during the hot days. There were plenty of grocery stores and restaurants nearby with excellent fish and greengrocery stalls near one of the canals virtually every morning.
WiFi worked immaculately.
All in all a property which I would thoroughly recommend and which was very much near the top of my list of Holidaylettings properties which we have used in different parts of the world.

“At Home in Venice”
Reviewed 9 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Having spent the last few months at Ca' Leda, we can safely say that we felt totally at home here, partly because we were repeat guests (this was our third stay), but also thanks to the gracious, ever-smiling owner, Francesca, who made us feel that we were welcome guests in her family home (which it was in her case for nearly half-a-century). The apartment is more than comfortable in all respects with plenty of heat and hot water to get one through the Venetian winter (as well as air-conditioning to resist the sticky heat of the Venetian summer), a cozy living room with four overstuffed armchairs, a charming dining room and a small but functional adjacent kitchen that served us well during our stay. The two bedrooms are large by Venetian standards and well fitted out with chests of drawers, closets and cupboards. Throughout there is a lovely stone terrazzo floor, so typical of Venice, as well as chandeliers in the living room (Murano) and the master bedroom (Belgian crystal). My wife loved to step out on the terrace of our bedroom that overlooked the tranquil Rio della Sensa to absorb the beauty of the Venetian night, but the daytime view of the passing gondolas and locals is equally impressive. The location in the heart of gritty Cannaregio on a cul-de-sac called Corte Zappa is great, both for the neighborhood feel of the small street, with kids playing ball in the courtyard on a mild spring evening, but also for the lively night life just around the corner in the Fondamente Ormesini and Misericordia, with plenty of bars, baccari and restaurants. Our favorites were Roberto's Cantina just across the bridge in Rio Terrà Farsetti, where a light lunch of cicchetti (Venice's version of tapas) or pasta and an "ombra" (a glass of wine or prosecco) will set you back 10€ or less; the popular restaurant "Timon" that, unusually for Venice, specializes in meat, particularly the marvelous, rare Bistecca alla Fiorentina; and Le Due Gondolette, a homey family-run, authentically Venetian restaurant that is, additionally, excellent value. So, by all means, make Ca Leda your home in Venice and enjoy all that it, the neighborhood and the city have to offer!

“This is the best we've ever had!”
Reviewed 29 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Located exactly 30 steps from the ghetto restaurants and shuls this is the best apartment we have ever rented in our 7 years in Italy. Clean, quiet, close to everything and the owner is a gentle and helpful woman who can not do too much to make your stay everything you want. the size of the place was a big factor...and the comfortable furniture was Ventian in style and made you feel Ventian!. There was plenty of hot water and the apartment was with enough warmth to take the evening chill out of the air. The salon windows face the quiet deadended court and the bedroom windows abut a small canal...The minute you step into this charming home, you can not mistake that you are in Venice! And the price is less than several friends were paying for a simple hotel room. Order early as she is usually filled up. You will love to base your venitian and Northern Italian travels from Francesca's home!

“Great apartment, great location”
Reviewed 23 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Ca’ Leda served as our home for 10 days while we enjoyed some of the many attractions that Venice has to offer. The unit is safe, spacious, clean and well equipped, with everything in good working order. Hot water never ran out during use.
The apartment is advantageously located. A small well stocked grocery store is just 5 minutes away. To our delight, we discovered that they refill your empty wine bottles for an irresistible price. If you don’t have a bottle to start you can get one from them.
Francesca and her daughter Alice got us off to a good start by giving us a helpful overview of what to see and do and where we might find the best food and drink. The warmth of their welcome made us feel that we were with old friends. Within a short walk, we had numerous choices to eat, shop or just sight-see. One day we walked to the Rialto Bridge, and you might, too, or even further, depending on your energy that day. If energy or time are in short supply, it is a walk of only some 5 or 6 minutes to the vaporetto dock at either San Marcuola to the south or St Alvise to the north, depending on your destination that day. Those boats will take you near every major attraction, which space prevents me from cataloging here, information readily available elsewhere. In summary, we wholeheartedly recommend this apartment and would stay here again personally.

“Quiet and accessible neighborhood Venice apartment”
Reviewed 21 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Francesca has a great apartment if you want to live briefly among local Venetians and experience a true neighborhood. It is well-equipped and very comfortable. Large bedrooms, both of which open up to a small canal. The courtyard in front is very quiet and there are many restaurants available along the street near the apartment. The Ghetto area is VERY close by where there are several lovely cafe's and neighborhood shops - easy to catch a vaporetto or walk to the train station, and still only 15 minute walk to St. Mark's Square.

The apartment has a nice eating area in the small kitchen, a comfortable living room and the wifi was very reliable throughout our visit. We felt very comfortable and safe - important for two women (sisters) travelling alone.

Francesca's instructions for the apartment were clear, and she kept in contact following the booking until the day we arrived, meeting us at the Guglie vaporetto stop and walking us to the apartment the first day. She goes above and beyond for her guests - had fresh fruit, excellent ground coffee available on arrival.

Would love to return in the future - thanks for your hospitality, Francesca.
