Beyond wonderful

Review of Lalaria
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 06 Apr 2017
We arrived at about 11 a.m. after long flights from London to find that they were facing an unexpected power outage that had started a few hours earlier. But we were greeted warmly, once we had got in, and were given iced drinks while our room was prepared. We sat in the shade looking out over the blue ocean and began to get over the rigours of long distance travel, which does seem harder now we are older.
Our room was the original owner's bedroom, and should be described as a suite. It was amazing, beautifully designed, and luxuriously comfortable. There were views to the ocean in one direction and the pool and garden in the other.
There were chairs for all the guests round the pool, where we spent most of the afternoon under the shade of the umbrella, but one still needs to take care with suntan lotion, in March anyway.
We were there for two nights and each night our hosts suggested somewhere to eat, and arranged a reliable taxi driver who also came to take us home.
It is an easy walk to the ocean, but better to have a car and drive to nearby places. The hosts are great at suggesting options.
The quality of the bed linens and towels was excellent, and the pillows were delightfully soft.
our hosts, Lindsay and Barry Sommer were looking after Lalaria while the usual couple were taking a well-earned break. No-one could have been better. The power outage lasted all day and they coped magnificently and always with a smile. We owe the a huge thank you for settling us in at the start of a fantastic holiday in KZN.

Our stay started very well as we were upgraded to the massive honeyroom suite with two balconies, one overlooking the sea and the other the pool. The lounge and bathroom were huge and the decor was great. Both Linda and Tony were so welcoming. The whole place was very stylish. All guests agreed to go out at 7pm and they arranged a mini bus for us all. We were only staying for one night, but wish we had booked for longer! We would certainly recommend this place to anyone. Well done guys. Apologies for the late review !

It was our first trip to this region. When arriving we where welcomed by Tony and he made a most excellent introduction to his facility. Immediately we felt at "home". The room was as expected clean and with all the facilities. Breakfast was served by Linda and Tony, we could not miss anything.
Overall we could recommend this friendly hous to all our friends Andy could assure them a wunderful service. Should it happen that we could visit KwaZulu Natal again it will be a must for us to come back to the most friendly couple Linda and Tony, thank you for your hospitali. By the way they are excellent cooks. With our best regards Carmen and Walter from Switzerland, Bruegg

Nothing to complain, Linda and Toni are excellent hosts. Good suggestions for restaurants, visits etc.
We got an upgrade for the top room with excellent view. Saw dolphins in the mornings - would come back anytime!
