“Very well appointed but sadly no ground floor windows to view out.”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We chose this property for its location close to Rutland Water and Burley House. As cyclist this was a good central position for a weekends discovery. I start with the good bits. The house was provided with everything you might need, there was even food in the fridge a mountain of fresh fruit and fresh duck eggs a plenty. The property was clean and everything was very new. There were three things worth mentioning. 1/ storing 4 bikes would be awkward, two might go in a tiny outside area but two would have to sit in the through kitchen living area. If they were wet and muddy things would be messy. 2/ As non dog owners there was a smell of wet dog around and we all found this rather off putting at times. 3/ The building has plenty of windows but there is only the one in the master bed room which you can look out of. I realise you're unlikely to spend much time in the property but all the same I felt a little claustrophobic. All in all, if there had been even one ground floor window with even a restricted view I would have given this property 7or8/10 as it is sadly only 4 or 5/10.

We have just had the most lovely weekend in Primrose Hall.we arrived late and weary on Friday night but the heating was on and we felt instantly at home.Spotless linen and all rooms spick and span.We had no idea there was so much to do in the surrounding area,From rock shows to sailing and fabulous walks. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay in the near future. The owners have thought of everything ,even dressing gowns!Very impressed

“Interesting and enjoyable place to stay”

We spent a very enjoyable few days in this sympathetically renovated building which has an interesting history. It is conveniently located not far from the village shop and pub and ideal for walks around and close to Rutland Water.
Everything needed for a self-catering holiday is supplied - and more: there were some thoughtful additional touches such as a bottle of wine and some locally-sourced cordial.
Although we made a late booking, the owners dealt with it quickly and efficiently and provided clear directions.
Highly recommended.
