Description: A welcoming and friendly local pub in a picturesque corner of the Forest of Dean. Visit us for hearty dinners, lunches and snacks and an excellent selection of beers, ciders and wines. We are located just off the A46, next to the Castle in St Briavels, a popular spot for walkers, and just off the Offas Dike and Wye Valley trails. A beautiful refuge for locals and tourists alike, and all visitors are made welcome by the friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Nice beer garden and decent pub food. Only came for drinks & puds but nice range.
Beer garden was quiet, enjoyed sitting here in the sun.
Only thing that brought my score down is the children who brought out our food and even served us at the bar!! Not sure it's suitable really for small children of about 10/11 to be serving drinks!

Due to the lovely weather, we were able to have dinner al fresco. The food is really good and the staff too.

Surly landlady/owner does nothing for this place as you will discover from other reviews. She should leave her pleasant staff to run the place and disappear upstairs. The beer was good and the food is average. Staff were nice but very inexperienced and as a result very slow - at a guess I'd say there's a fast turnover of staff due to the local dragon. Could be an amazing village pub pulling people in for miles....but it's not. Decor is tired and reminds me of The Slaughtered Lamb from the film American Werewolf in London

We have been here several times before. We had a good meal and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was good and the pub is dog friendly. Don't be put off by first looks. The pub is a little tired and needs some work and hopefully with a bit of investment it will be a real asset to the local village as it should be.
